In all likelihood, Rey is back to her TFA costume and hairstyle to more easily fit her character in around reused TFA footage of Rey & Leia. At least, that's my assumption.

Well, we don't know how long she'll be wearing the costume. She's had at least two costumes in the other films.

 

So the character of Richard Grant whose name made the whole crowd on the room speechless is a FO officer ?

 

Wouldn't surprise me to be honest. You had Max Von Sydow play a relativity small role in TFA. I remember people thinking he was Darth Plegus and or some other major villain at the time of the announcement.

 

Well, it's not people it's from the actor himself.

 

A look or costume doesn't reveal his identity or role. So we still have to learn much more. He could be the clone of Palpatine or Rey's father. This would make the room go wild, I guess. Haha!

 

Those with posh English accents tend to play the baddies in SW.

Rey's father is not a name ... She doesn't have a name yet.

I'm just sticking to what the actor said :

he actor recalled his audition process to The Telegraph, detailing he was "surrounded by all this Star Wars memorabilia going back to 1977. And within about two seconds, [director J.J. Abrams] said, ‘Are you gonna do it or not?’ And I said, ‘Do what?’ Then he described the part, and I think he told me what my name was, at which point the room went upside down."

 

He's just saying that JJ was describing his part to him and Grant was shocked/exited about being in a Star Wars movie, not that the name itself blew him away. I highly doubt that Grant knows that much Star Wars.

People are reading too much into stuff like this.

 

We're Star Wars fans, it's what we do.
