What is your opinion on this fan edit?
I must say, hands down, that this is one of the most impressive fan edit I ever saw.
If the Blu-ray edits were done by Lucasfilm to near the old movies in conjuncture with the Prequels, then in comparisson to Adywan, they are half-assed jobs.

Here is the list of changes he made (pretty impressive):

That is what I call dedication.
My only dissaproval is with the Darth Vader vs Obi-wan. I didn't like the repetition of the shots due to the lack of source material for longer and more dynamic fight and inclusion of ROTS Battle of Heroes BGM.
What I did like tough were remastered lightsabers.
Also, Aliens blinking was little weird as it was really apparent CGI and some of the copy and paste shots of TIE fighters also didn't looked that great.
Some of the touches like Death Star orbiting a planet and the reasoning behind it were cool.
Or some added lines from the Radio Drama.

The recent Blu-ray versions will be my default, as it is the official stuff, but Adywan really did acomplished a huge task of taking the movie on par with prequels by visuals in my opinion and it doesn't look like a huge step from ROTS to ANH when seeing his version. Also, I do like how he repaired lot of the actual errors, like the ever present pink hue when there is laser fight.

I can't wait to see his take on The Empire Strikes Back, as that movie is perfect already in my eyes.

I haven't been able to get my hands on this, but The Adywan Cut's additions seems a bit extreme in places. I do like that he fixed things that even the legit special edition over-looked though like misplaced optical effects and and continuity errors. My dream special edition is something that just cleans up the little things, rather than making very noticeable additions.

Blinking Greedo is awesome though, I just hope it looks good and not like pixels getting squeezed and stretched.
