Alright, maybe I should wait for someone to create one thread with a proper review with spoiler (Kyle's is non-spoilery). But here is for the lucky ones that have read already the last book of the Aftermath trilogy. There is another thread for this book but I guess this one with the "SPOILER" tag could work better.

Enter at your own peril. You've been warned of spoilers.

Looking forward to give my comments soon too!

May the Force be with you always.

    I loved how this ended.

Norra- awesome character did not let me down.

Snap/Temmen- Really matured as a character. Was quite proud of him.

    Galli- Bantha Poodoo

Rae Sloane! Gave me hope for the future of so called "bad guys"

Wedge - I kind of hope things continue in the direction it has been going with him, ;)

    Jas- Total bad ass.

Sinjir- I love you and loved seeing his whole character development. I never expected that kind of ending for him.

    Jom- <3

Pregnant Leia, sure sounds like um maybe Snoke was already starting to get his hooks into that boy already by then. Makes it more mysterious.

Han- Bored, finds something to do temporarily, was funny about what to do with a baby.

Mon Mothma can be a bit devious at times.

Denger shows up! Bounty Hunter Joy Club!

    Lando and Lobot were hilarious.

    Lumpy is Canon!!

I felt bad for Jar Jar, but that kind of sums up Jar Jar, kids love him (not my daughter though) but adults do not that was a bit in the feels.

Tashu. Shocking, and the AotB connection, and what the heck is going on there.

    Lumpy is Cannon!

Little General Hux getting that kid to beat up the other kid just because he asked him to.

Lots of questions for the galaxy.

Too many baby gifts. Wonder if Lando actually did the blaster thing and it shows up someday.

So much to process. Nice to get a different view of the battle of Jakku, going to go back and look at Lost Stars where they mention it and places where it's reflected on. I went right away to the video game trailer even.

Probably going to read this again very soon.

I'm still processing it a bit. Mostly I'm struggling to grasp what the heck was up with Jakku--the planet, not the battle. So even before the battle, it was important long ago...it used to be green and lush but it's been poisoned, and then someone (those same ancient folks, I must assume?) bored into the very core of it ... And Rax intended to "poison" this Well with the darkside artifacts and paraphernalia so conveniently attached to Tashu (all at the Emperor's order)? This was to make Jakku into a evil and dark beacon of some kind (or maybe just a nice welcome mat) for this power from the other galaxy/unknown parts (Snoke?)...? But Brentin somehow managed to stop this and that's why Jakku seems to have remained the same by the time we arrive there in TFA....?

Aaaanyway, I also really struggled with this Han guy. He didn't seem like Han Solo to me, really. And if this was the state the New Republic was in, how in the GFFA did they manage to last until Bloodline? (But that's probably my fault. I dozed off during several of Mon Mothma's political maneuvering scenes.)

What I got from it was choas, from both sides of the aisle per say and the Force. Multiple groups being created by both the remenants of the Empire and the Republic show just how much turmoil occurred after the Emperor's Demise. The Snoke question (how - when and why continues to linger as it appears he was influencing the baby possibly before birth) Hux's backstory is also very interesting where it relates to his father and how the Emperor almost seemed to allow him to take command. Han Solo seemed very un-Solo if that's a thing very surprising.

And then there is this which is something I really need to start considering: “He is less a human-shaped thing and more a pulsing, living band of light. Light that sometimes dims, that sometimes is thrust through with a vein of darkness.” What does this imply how was his childhood shaped by the presence of knowing this? He (Ben) seemed conflicted from birth (cursed you may say)

And ..... Hello "Lumpy" :D Lumpy is canon

by the way @Obi-Wan Solo great write up, and beautifully crafted

Han just seemed out of his element to me is all. He had been through a lot and was at a crossroads. Looking for Chewie and him not being there, trying to find a place in this new life etc.

Palpatine dug out the hole to the core. Artifacts with Tashu were not to 'poison' the planet but to destabilize the core and blow the planet up and Empire and Republic forces with it. Also, computers were to map out the way to Unknown Regions not to be a beacon. And Sloane stopped the explosion not Brentin. Man, you were sleeping through half of the book. :D

You picked up on that sleeping bit? :p I will have to go back through that part because it was in my head that the Well had something to do with the ancient computers and blah blah. But yes, it makes more sense that Palpatine would have done it as part of his Contingency plan. The computers were there to map the Unknown Regions, yes, but once the planet blew and destroyed everything, the intention was to make it an area of seething Dark that could act as a beacon or maybe just a welcome mat for the Dark power that Palpatine was sensing. I know I didn't sleep through that. Maybe just a light snooze at that point. :D

Now I'm thinking about those darn computers...If they were from the ancient hub Jakku once was (assuming a Sith power?), were they calculating the path into the Unknown even then, or did Palatine just conscript them for that? (And how come my laptop dies after like four years? Why?!?!? I guess they were sustained by their Dark Purpose. :p)

LUMPY IS FREAKING CANON!!!!!!! If he would have put in Chewbacca as Ben Solo's middle name, my head would have exploded. (And little boy Armitage should have had a pet cat). Mr. Bones endeared himself to me. A Hug IS violence with love.

So you people having read the book (with the exception of the obviously speculative parts, of course!) how accurate is the other info in this video?

It's pretty accurate. I wonder if Palps was looking for THE origin of the Force or dark side of it though. The phrasing was vague. Maybe AN origin? From Rax's POV: "something waited for him [Palpatine] out there, some origin of the force, some dark presence formed of malevolent substance"...for what that's worth. It seems tricky to filter what Palpatine was thinking from what Rax is thinking as a "nonbeliever."

I didn't tie in the timing of the Acolytes' dreams with this though. It's a good point.

That is extremely interesting given this quote from George Lucas' 1976 story conference with Alan Dean Foster about Splinter of the Mind's Eye:

George Lucas: We also wanted to have a scene where Vader goes and bows before the Force and the Force picks him up and tells him that he better go out and get that crystal... But it’s not the Force personified; it’s on the verge of personification. Maybe it’s a shadow or something.

    Alan Dean Foster: The ultimate...

Lucas: It's the ultimate evil. It's the devil.

It's quite accurate, this is a great channel. I don't always agree with Alex's conclusions, but he always makes good arguments. His videos are fun.

Who choked up when Mister Bones died? And who noticed that part of his memory matrix belonged to General Grievous? I didn't at first, @Hard Case had to point it out to me before my second reading.

A thought about Norra Wexley: Norra, so worried about whether she's looking for revenge or justice, eventually chooses...neither. She chooses forgiveness instead, and realizes she is finally free.

    Star Wars is back! ;)
