    This was pretty enjoyable. Fairly well written. It really felt like we were in Lando's head. Although this looks like it'll just be one of Wendig's interludes and Lando won't have a big role in the book. I really hope Luke pops up this time. If this is truly going to be the end of the Empire on Jakku then I think he needs to be there.

    Very interesting setup; mentioning the barren planet Jakku, and how Norra used the plot against her family/husband as continued motivation; it seems this novel may focus a little more on Ben's upbringings and the Battle of Jakku. Lando and Lobot's return to Cloud City was also a nice touch especially if there is a expose on what happened after the defeat of the Empire and how he struggled to rebuild is once promising colony, especially considering he chose a side in the galatic fight.

    From what it is mentioned on the excerpt I think it would be interesting to see how the Han Solo movie will present Lando's old friendship with Han. (I know, I still got mixed feelings about the movie, but it will be interesting to see.)

    This is a great observation by you, as more about the past between Han and Lando is presented maybe it will tie a few loose ends from Empire Strikes Back and this new novel. If we really think about it, we really don't know a lot about Han Solo or Lando. Now the Anthology film will help us in this regard but to what extent? I personally know what I want to see in the film ( 1 major thing - the saving Chewbacca life debt) but Lando's friendship is one which now has added interest.

    It's interesting that it talks about Adelhard's blockade. This is the first mentioning of the Bespin blockade in the Aftermath books, I believe.

    Awwww of course it had to be cheesy and corny for Valentine's Day. Which I'm fine with, because I loved it LOL.

    Three things:

    1) Finally we get more details on where's Luke at this point. Not that many details, but at least it's someting.
    2) WHERE IS THREEPIO? (My guess is that Han gladly allowed Luke to take him - I guess he is with Luke and Artoo).
    3) Having the future Kylo Ren being called "little angel" and "little bandit" is kinda weird, gotta admit.

    Regarding that new excerpt released today, my interest zoomed on one sentence:

    "Luke's searching the galaxy for old jedi teachings."
    This is substantial. Luke is already gone, so soon after Episode IV. While we suspected he was searching for knowledge, this actually confirms it. I wonder: what series of discoveries led to Luke's self-exile on Ach-to? What drove him to abandon his sister and his friends so soon after ROTJ?
    Very interesting stuff.

    in Bloodline we get a sense that Luke has taken Ben on a walkabout through the galaxy in search of "truths" of the Force--that he has never been interested in building the New Republic and that he's wholly invested his learning/teaching.
    his exile on Ahch-To seems directly related to losing Ben after the reveal of their relationship to Darth Vader.
    so far as we know, Luke was in contact with his sister and Han up until shortly before the public revelation of Vader being their father.

    All I care about that period of time Luke was roaming the galaxy while Han and Leia were engaged in the adventures from the Aftermath trilogy is to find out that Ahsoka survived until then, secluded from the fight and that she got to meet Skyguy's son.

    I know, wishful drinking. Sorry thinking.

    I mean, what are the odds? Low I know, but anyway it would be nice to have. (Please Lucasfilm make it happen!)
