This keeps popping up from various sources on reddit.
In the new book Aftermath there is a faction called the Acolytes of the Beyond. They are trying to optain Vader's Ligghsaber. Its not pointed out which, but since his lighsaber in Jedi falls down I asume it's the Bespin saber wich belonged to Ani. But the sellers tell them this.
    https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsLeaks/comments/3j01hf/acolytes_of_the_beyond/cul6clr?context=3

Looks like that is the reveal coming next days.

So in the next weeks when we get more novels and interviews we will get more stuff about those guys.
Some questions popping up right now.
Are they connected or the same group as the Knights of Ren or are they just another chapter of an even bigger group. Looks like not only Kylo is a Vader Fan.
The next weeks are going to be interesting.

I've commented on this (and a number of other pieces of info from the book) in the main News and Rumours thread.
The lightsaber in the story is a red lightsaber rumoured to have belonged to Darth Vader. The Acolytes of the Beyond obtainit, hoping to destroy it in order to reunite it with it's master in death.

there is a massive underlying tone throughout this book, from what i have seen posted online, that the new mysteries are either happening "beyond" the known galaxy or things from the "beyond" (acolytes) are starting to interact with the known galaxy. If the MSW article is right about a nebula then i think we are gearing up for either the KoR or Snoke coming from "beyond" the known galaxy and bringing the dark side with it.

He linked a nice little speculation around 2 years ago.

    Pretty neat explaination of "beyond"

I know Jason's post referred to the line "beyond the outer rim", but what if we are interpreting that wrong. The First Order is rumored to emerge from a nebulae, but what if the Acolytes of the Beyond is referring to the nether realm of the Force. Perhaps the Acolytes are obsessed with communing with the dead, and their beliefs demonstrate the dark side version of a Force ghost. Instead of shedding their material possessions, they want to bring them with them into the life beyond death. All speculation, I'm digging the cool philosophical and mythical implications of such a group.

I dont know about the way this is beign described, it makes it sound like they think the dark side is from a specific place... that is almost as bad as medichlorians, because it makes the force tangible.

the force is supposed to be this universal energy field, and the dark side is supposed to be part of that.

Nah, I think it's just reference...like our "being from Mars". Seems to be just a reference to something mysterious, unknown, or just alien.

FOr the record, that "what it should be" video, has one of the most insane, pretentious, idiotic possible endings for Star Wars that is concievable. It has literally every problem that thee Mass Effect 3 ending had, and then some.

That is the kind of idea someone comes up with when high, saying "what if there was like... no more war, no more badness, or evilnesss maaaaaaan andwe all like evolved into energy beings"

Its just insane bullcrap, and it will never happen in an ongoing franchise like this that relies on the universe being broad and open.

(this is not even touching on thefact that such cataclysmic changes to the universe basically represent the death of every character and the destruction of all characters hopesand dreams... not to mention the fact it assumes that there is a distinction between the physical universe of star wars and the force.... which the force should be a part of the universe, not something laying on top of it)

My personal theory is that the Acolytes of Beyond will extend past Aftermath into the rest of the trilogy, but their arc won't even be resolved there. Instead it'll end up finishing with a film of it's own where our heroes head out into the unknown and unexpectedly find the group's origins, and the film will be called...

    Star Trek Beyond.

I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself:D (I do hope they continue The group on outside of Aftermath though).

Yep it could mean anything, even George Lucas played with the Idea of a Netherworld of the Force.
    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Netherworld_of_the_Force/Canon
He even implied that that is the way how Yoda and Obi Wan brought Hayden Forceghost back in Jedi.
@Ralok-one, thanks for your dislike, I'm just trying to sum up the last hours of speculation going on, don't shoot the messenger.

Someone else, who is not the one providing information on the topic, posting a comment that involves their own type of theory that would destroy star wars... is not relevent to the information from the book being discussed.

So who are you to tell others what would ruin Star Wars? I love it when people do that. It's an Idea and yes he made some logical faults but still thats even more then some of our own speculation threads here.

Aaaaaand the Unifying Force...if you believe in that :p

Actually that's more of a philosophy than an aspect of the Force...

I wonder if they're retconning the Sith species, making them come from beyond the galaxy. And that that's what Snoke is. Or perhaps these Dark Side users predate the Sith, but still come beyond the galaxy.
