Ahsoka Tano actor Rosario Dawson and Sabine Wren actor Natasha Liu Bordizzo explain that Ahsoka, which is currently filming, will have all the action and adventure that fans of Star Wars have come to expect with the franchise, including high-stakes.

While Andor coverage is the focus of the latest issue of Empire magazine (hat tip The Direct), there was a brief aside given for two of the leading actors for the next new live-action Star Wars show. Dawson explains that one of the things she's most interested in is finally giving audiences a clearer understanding of where Ahsoka Tano is mentally and emotionally at the start of her series, something that's only really been glimpsed at with her appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett:
Bordizzo added some notes about her character arc for the series, noting that her character makes some crucial mistakes that could prove to be dangerous in the long run.
Furthermore, Bordizzo explained that while watching Rebels is important to understand Sabine's backstory, it is not required viewing in order to understand the spin-off:

While no synopsis has been provided as of yet, Ahsoka is expected to follow the events of the epilogue of Rebels based on the footage shown exclusively to Star Wars Celebration Anaheim attendees. At the end of that series, Ahsoka Tano arrived on Lothal to pick up Sabine Wren, as both were committed to their search for series protagonist Ezra Bridger, last seen flying off into hyperspace to an unknown destination with Grand Admiral Thrawn in tow, with fan speculation - and Ahsoka's demands to know where Thrawn is in The Mandalorian - indicating that the series will continue to pick up where that story left off.

At this time, no casting news has confirmed the involvement of Ezra or Thrawn appearing alongside Ahsoka or Sabine, but one major character confirmed to return is none other than Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, portrayed again by Hayden Christensen, with Hera Syndulla confirmed to appear (played by an as-of-yet unknown actress); her droid C1-10P 'Chopper' will be making his second live-action appearance since a cameo in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Other cast members for the series include Ivanna Sakhno, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Ray Stevenson as an Imperial admiral who is not Thrawn (which some speculate may be Gilad Pellaeon, Thrawn's understudy in the Star Wars Legends continuity, whose canonicity was confirmed in the final episode of Rebels).

The latest issue of Empire goes on sale this Thursday. Ahsoka is expected to release sometime in 2023, most likely after the arrival of the third season of The Mandalorian.
