Ashoka does not need to die for Yoda to be right about the last of the Jedi. She is no longer one, technically.

If you want a really crazy story she makes a deal with the devil (Vader) and is his secret apprentice. Filling the role that Starkiller had in the Force Unleashed game where Vader basically set up the Rebellion.

I really want to see the Ashoka vs Vader, but not in Rebels.
    Spin off = yes.
Rebels need to continue the focus on the new characters with the occasional cameo from people we know.
I kind of think that a by having a heavy emphasis on Ashoka in the series somewhat de-values the new characters we are just starting to connect with.

Filoni has sId in an interview that both Ahsoka and Vader will be used sparingly. I see your point, but I suspect we'll see them crossing sabers in Rebels.

Whether she survives or not ... very clouded the future is.

It would make a lot of sense story and continuuity wise. However, she's so popular that I can see books and spinoffs about her. It would be shocking if Disney doesn't try to cash in on this. Perhaps she's Rogue One. Perhaps she gets her own comic. Time will tell ...

Of all the fan-made theories, I think this makes the most sense. I don't believe it's necessary, as so may others think, for Vader to kill Ahsoka. In terms of the quasi-classical mythology that Star Wars is based on, it's just not done that way, with the master killing the apprentice. Most often, the apprentice will turn from the master's teachings (check) and forge a distinct path (check) to lead a parallel but inverse life of the master. Vader bad, Ahsoka, good, both sort of rogue, or even fallen Jedi. A very common theme in Japanese samurai storytelling. Meaning, Ahsoka will serve as a mirror to Vader, but not as a milestone to achieve Ultimate Evil by taking her out.

However, the Emperor killing her would actually create a really interesting counterpoint to what happens in RoTJ. Ahsoka is Anakin's little sister. Standing by while she's killed could also serve as a trigger for Vader when it happens again. In this way, her death isn't a rote sacrifice for the greater good (which I'm tired of seeing, if I'm honest), but a tragic end that still serves a greater purpose that won't bee seen for another 20 years. That would actually pretty cool, and I think I'd be OK with it.

I think it would be interesting if Ashoka finds out in the series. She narrowly escapes him in one duel and visits Luke and Leia to try and learn more about his fall and his legacy. That would be sick.

Yeah, it's probably Quinlan Vos and Asaaj Ventress. Note their saber colors on the cover of their upcoming novel.

    Ahsoka uses white/silver sabers now.

Probably Voss and Ventress, I agree. Still, could be a flashback. Or who knows. Marvel has been taking some liberties with covers (like Leia #2) so until the issue is released, who knows! I am looking forward to Dark Disciple though!

I don't see how Ezra, Kanan or Ahsoka can make it out of Rebels, but I think Vader will spare her by his blade/trick her into thinking she is spared -- to find death in another manner. I enjoy both sides of Vader's character - I think with their history he would at least pause before he finishes her.

Yep he probably will have faint memories of his time with her as a jedi before he finishes her.

I think the whole idea of her becoming an Inquisitor is actually pretty plausible, given her distrust of the Jedi, her ejection from their ranks, their lack of support and belief in her innocence, etc. But at the same time, I don't believe her fall to the Dark Side would have been triggered by those events- when she left, she was dejected, not murderous. And for her to have been integral to the formation of the Rebellion indicates that she is still more Light-Sided than Dark. (Unless she is already undercover working for Vader at the Rebellion's inception.... But that's probably far too dark a story for Rebels and would have ended the Rebellion before it even got off the ground :p )

I'm very much torn between which path I foresee Ahsoka taking in Rebels, to be honest. She has so many options open to her that it's most likely impossible for us to know her fate. I hope they at least afford us a scene between her and Kanan to explain how they both survived Order 66. I know there's A New Dawn and the Kanan comics to cover his story, but just a nod in the motion canon to those would be nice for those who have yet to read them yet. Plus, it can't hurt to drum up more business for them, I'm sure!

I share your opinion, i dont see the need to kill Ashoka and as Yoda said to Luke, he is of the last of the Jedi, she never completed her training due to the circumstances of Clone Wars, she is technically a force user no longer a potential candidate for being a Jedi. With that said, however she was rather well skilled for how young she was.

That is an interesting position to take on Ashoka becoming Vaders hand/apprentice per se, in the same way Starkiller was in the Force Unleashed, i wish they didnt eliminate that as Cannon, that drives me crazy.

Normally i would agree, but i think that Ashoka brings in an unknown element into Rebels, i dont think it de-values it as much as you think, i think that it enriches Rebels.

Another opinion i share, it is plausible to see Ashoka siding with Vader, on the darkside i am not so sure about that but what we saw in Clones it is very much possible. After what happened to her in Clones, how could she not in someway or pretend to in order to get to the point with that of the Vader situation.

I to hope they get to a point of telling us how Ashoka survived, but that just might be the fact that she was No longer apart of the order. In a way, it is kinda of fitting in the way that she left the Order and some years later the Jedi were basically wiped out while she wasn't.

    Yeah.

She's such a great character, with a good deal of remaining "milkable" story value- (and thus literal $ value) -still available to feed her massive fan base.

And, as probable as her end at Vader's/Palpatine's hand may seem, we can be reasonably certain that any unexplained gaps in her timeline will eventually be filled. ...And speaking as a huge fan of the character, I very sincerely hope those gaps are filled with the most excellent stories. ...To be clear, our girl deserves it.

On that note, (that note being "excellent storytelling"), this is precisely all Ahsoka really needs in order to save her character from this apparent "certain" doom.
As we all know, this is fantasy/sci-Fi, and anything can happen– let's just hope it's good.

In a way i want to see an unknown happy ending to Ashoka, i don't know why she has to be killed off and another faith cant be. I could certainly perhaps see something more of her character becoming something more in live action in some way. idk, i love the character as it really humanized Anakin in CW and her to die at the hands of Vader or Papl, just seems so weak.

i'd love for her to discover palps theory that the 'source' of the dark side lies beyond the rim and head out there to investigate. she was there at the start of Palps 'children of the force' scheme.. id like that to be an overarching arc for her

then bring her into the live action ST where she is rescued after being a prisoner for 35 years.. shed be around her mid 60s i believe. A Togruta's standard lifespan is 94 years (if lucasfilm is still following that)
then it would give an explanation why she wasnt around for the OT and it would give an actress a good 30 real year run to make appearances and cameos in upcoming movies ;)
