@General_Tarkin - yeah, the geologist thing annoyed the hell out of me... but even that paled in comparison to the rolling space jockey ship and Charlize Theron's character being squidged just because she couldn't run in anything but a straight line underneath it!

His films as original director yes, but the story was conceived by Dan O'Bannon (who co-wrote the brilliant Dark Star with John Carpenter) and Ron Shusset (who also wrote screenplay for Total Recall, based on Philip K. Dick's 'We Can Remember It For You Wholesale')

You know, there is one thing I have been wondering, I imagine that the AVP movies are non canon as well because they contradict the events of Prometheus and Covenant but what about Predator 2? In P2 we got to see the Alien skull in the Predators trophy room.
    BaP5b.png
Are we now to assume that the Predator movies aren't canon either? The events from Predator 2 happened in 1997 and we see the skull of the classic Xeno we know from Aliens but the events from Covenant happen in 2104 were we see that said Xeno hasn't been created yet. Some people try to play the Alien skull as an easter egg but I disagree. Easter eggs are mostly blink and you miss them things that are hidden in films but the Alien skull was made to be part of the movie. The camera even focuses on the thing giving viewers the idea that both species have encountered each other before.

Predator canon is all over the place, so it's probably for the best to look away. I think the short of it is that Xenomorphs exist in the Predator universe but the Yautja don't necessarily exist in the Alien universe. And Alien Versus Predator is its own beast altogether.

True, I meant it as Scott's story since O'Bannon died and Shusset is retired.
Now that @Lazarus Dei mentioned it, actually both O'Bannon and Shusset had input on AvP. Which technically makes it "more" canon than Scott's version.

Just saw AC, I really wanted Shaws' questions answered. Why did they create us and why do they want to kill us? I think David wiped out the Engineers, because they were god (lower g/god-like similar to GOTG2, Star- lord's father ) like beings, who saw humans as inferior, sort of like insects or rodents to destroy. We would have never got along with them,( In Prometheus, end of the 3rd act, when old Weyland approaches the Engineer, he attacks and kills Weyland) just my theory.

I have to say that David's reasons were far from being noble as he did even nastier things than the Engineers ever did. David cares nothing for nobody and even the people who put their trust in him are just stepping stones in his megalomania.

I never alluded to David being noble, it clearly shows in the film that he can't be trusted, older model with allot of viruses HEHEheheheh... I suggested a reason why he would kill the so-called Engineers or Space Jockeys or however one likes to refer to them.

I think Mr. Sunday Movies is one of the dumbest people on this planet. I would have appreciated your personal opinion or theory, however; Thanks for acknowledging my question and your effort in doing so.

No no, in this video there is a fragment of an interview that Ridley Scott took part in, where he explained that Jesus Christ was sent to us by the Engineers and because people killed him, they want to excercise revenge on us right now, wince we don't appreciate help from them.

I'll take a serious look at it again... (one more view for Mr. Sunday Movies... dislike) but I hate when these so-called you tubers call characters dumb like their opinion is canon or absolutely correct. heheheh How is a prequel character suppose to know that a parasitoid or face hugger will attach to his face? Is he a member of the audience? Did a character in the film watch Alien?....jk. Engineers take revenge on earthlings for killing space Jesus. Ok so the earthlings are the evil ones. Mr. Sunday Movies... unsubscribed

The "Jesus was an Engineer" explanation isn't actually canon, though. And it's not the motivation for why Engineers want to kill humanity. It's because we're meant to be vessels for their bioweapons, which is exactly what happens to the crews of the Prometheus and the Covenant. And the Engineer we see in Prometheus was trying to deliver a massive bioweapon to Earth because it would have triggered a massive amount of mutation and evolution that the unlucky test subjects would have received. This video has a good explanation for it, the grey goo, and other things that you might have been confused about regarding the previous film:
