    Something struck me the other day that I hadn't noticed,. There is a strong similarity between Alistair Petrie's rebel officer in the Rogue One trailer (the guy who lists Jyn's faults) and Agent Kallus from Rebels. It seems like there is a good chance that Kallus will defect in season three, so could Petrie's character actually be Kallus making that two characters from Dave Filloni animations to make it to live action?

    While I agree that there is distinct possibility that Kallus might help the Rebellion, I do not think that the character will appear in Rogue One.

    I thought he looked sorta Airen Cracken, who was supposedly named in the 1991 book as one of the gunners for the MF in the Battle of Endor but after reading the comic Han Solo # 1 I thought of him, especially based on his similar attitude to the one we see on the teaser with Jyn Erso. But hey, it might be Kallus too.

    That's Cracken in the comic you posted? Looks a lot like the actor in question from the R1 teaser.

    Is it possible that at the time this was drawn the artist knew about Rogue One?

    That said, I would like to see either Cracken or Kallus somewhere in Rogue one. Or my other (massive) hope, that stuff from Rogue One starts featuring in Rebels soon.

    It's the sort of cameo that would require zero backstory for the casual viewer and I'd personally enjoy it.

    I doubt it though. I have a feeling the script for this was in motion around the same time as rebels so I'm not sure if they were planning on connecting those dots or if they had even planned kallus's arc that far. Also the human actor looks at least ten years older than the animated character implies, but i guess that could just be style.

    I think it's very possible. My guess is they would just mention that his name is Kallus and not necessarily expound upon his past. To me it's more likely that it's the guy from the comics though.

    You may be right, but i tend to have a lot of faith in story group. I suppose it's that I have seen some fairly obvious tie in opportunities that they didn't capitalize on. To be fair though, if they tie EVERYTHING together it becomes av really small galaxy.

    But like i said, you may be right.

    I don't see much of a resemblance between the two of them besides the nose and ears but the grey person looks weirdly similar to one of Palpatine's advisors in ROTJ

    Yep, maybe the Story Group did inform of the live-action version of Cracken to the comic writer and pencilist. And from reading it, I reckon it gives you the same feeling as Alistair in the teaser, like i-don't-really-trust-you-piece-of-scum-but-we-don't-seem-to-have-another-choice lol.

    The voice of the officer from the trailer is too different to that of Kallus, but Kallus will definitely start helping the rebels in season 3, there is a spoiler in the trailer that is hard to notice...

    Hmmm... I'm going to have to do some side by side cross referencing because I thought the voices were as similar as say Lanter and Christensen.

    I don't think it makes the galaxy smaller if it turns out to be Kallus or Cracken. Either of them would make total sense in that time and place. In fact if you had an entirely new bunch of characters at a time where we are already familiar with established ones, it would be a bit odd.
