That was just to keep the subject short but still grab your attention. This theory not only explains the "cyborg" but how rebels connects to the st the true reason behind some of the leaked photos we have and why rebels was renewed before it even aired! And just why is david olleo in vii anyway? Hooked now? Hear me out!

You could say the early rebels renewal shows disney's confidence in the show and after spark of rebellion who could blame them? But what if it was planned as a two season show from the beginning? NOOOOOO! Why!? Please hold all questions til the end. Simon Kinberg insists rebels will have some connection to the st. How can this be so? Im gonna give you the summary now. But dont be rude and leave before the end.

    The cyborg.....is Kanan!!!!!!!

Think about it! Why are neither kanan or ezra in the OT? Kinberg also stated that although rebels is on disney it will not be afraid to go dark. So heres my theory.

It begins pretty much in the same place the makingstarwars theory does. Daisy and maybe luke and/or some other characters meet the enemy in a cave and the enemy reveals himself. And we all see the shock that it is or may be dependent on how jj plays it, kanan. "But Coon.. your thinking now, there have been no rumors to indicate that Freddie Prinze Jr has been contacted for any of the films. Is he even strong enough of an actor to ppay a role like this on the big screen? Thats where rebels season 2 comes in.

By the end of Season 2 surely the ghost will have become quite a thorn in the empire's collective sides. I see season 2 and if my theory is correct the series culminating in a great battle. Perhaps the crew is assisted by more beloved ot characters as they're already bringing the droids in. On the sith side the inquisitor kallus perhaps if james earl jones or matt sloan are available darth vader. Maybe even the emperor (how is tim curry doing?) The battle starts well (inquisitor dies hence his absence in the ot unless he appears later in the st unless that is david ollenyos role in vii (more on this later) kallus dies) but eventually the dark forces prove too strong.

Kanan becomes disfigured. The rest of the ghost crew....including(or at least) ezra....dead (another option if disney says "too dark for xd " would maybe be to have the rest captured and presumed dead but ezra should at least be shown dying even if its justva quick scream and cut to kanan's face)

This leaves kanan...in a word....broken. just devoid of all hope so he goes far away..spends 20 years plus the span of the OT drowning in sorrow (somehow he got fixed becoming a cyborg the st can tell this tale) then finally he hears how darth vader and the empire met their end. So he returns and what does he see?

You know all that imperial iconography weve been seeing? Perhaps all along the answer was simple. The rebels have it now. (Pherhaps an older kallus or a descendant now works for them) But poor kanan having spent 20+ years in an emotional rage cant see that. He can only see the people who took everything from him. His life. To echo sabine's line....his family. And...finally...he just snaps! And tragically a new threat to the galaxy is born!

I had always harbored a sneaking suspicion that perhaps Max Von Sydow was playing Kanan Jarrus. Kanan should be about 67-68 around the outset of the Sequel Trilogy. However, Von Sydow is 85. This makes their age gap somewhat significant. (Though not entirely insurmountable) Eventually Disney is going to have to explain just what Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka were doing during the rebellion/OT. Or if they were even still alive. It weakens Luke's unique position as "savior" when there are perhaps multiple skilled/heroic Jedi floating around the galaxy.

Perhaps the "Ancient Evil" trapped all three of them in his "lava cave of fear!" (Hahaha) But seriously, who knows? It would be interesting to see their fates somehow intertwined into the overall plot of the sequel trilogy. It would tie everything together nicely. We'll see.

Maybe the "Ancient Evil" is using Kanan, Ezra and Ahsoka as it's three horsemen. Wait that's the X-men movie, nevermind.

Go read A New Dawn. Kanan would not become a cyborg.

I've thought about Max Von Sydow being Kanan as well but I believe he will be the villain now not the cowboy Jedi.

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/08/30/star-wars-a-new-dawn-review

"A New Dawn also benefits from having a strong villain in Count Vidian, a cyborg who came back from nearly dying from a disease and has been rebuilt as a physically scary and strong being who sees everything through a laser-focused, business-aimed mind and knows that staying in the favor of the Emperor is a dangerous and delicate endeavor. While yes, he’s another cyborg, he doesn’t feel like a Vader or Grievous retread, both because of his personality and because of the description of him covering his metallic face with a creepy-looking synthetic skin. He’s paired with Captain Sloane, an ambitious female Star Destroyer captain who is very intriguing herself as far as portraying the mindset of a young Imperial and the nuances running through her mind as she too tries to rise up in one hell of a competitive and threatening scenario."

I know it's alot of time but Vidian is a cyborg and he's paired with a female captain of a star destroyer. Maybe by VII she's an admiral or leader of her own faction.

I think the David Olwolo (sp?) rumor has been grossly misreported. He plays Agent Kallas not the inquisitor. The Inquisitor is played by Jason Issac (patriot). Now he may have been up for the Inquisitor role but ended up as Kallas. The connection that was being speculated about is John Boyaga playing Zane and a later ancestor in the ST. At this point I think that Bad Robot truly has us chasing our own tails.

If it's actually something worth knowing. Tell it. You're not. You're jumping around waving your hands and saying "I know! I know!" And then when someone says "What do you know?" you say - "I'll tell you on my blog at some time in the future."

Sorry, but that is clearly another way to say - "I don't know anything. I'm just trying to draw attention to myself."

    Put up or shut up.

I remember the crew of Rebels have stated that there really will be no Jedi knights left except Ben Kenobi and Yoda by the time of Star Wars, and then just Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi, to maintain consistency with the Original Trilogy - implying Kanan is going to die in the series.
