Anyone else think Vader was lame as he was shown in the movies? Other than shaking the earth in the ROTS he never showed a lot of power. Can we PLEASE see his son Luke turn a ship into a black hole or maybe a new death star? Something new and powerful..

Ok maybe not a black hole but lets see something powerful. Anakin was never as powerful as Sideous just by the movies.

Actually the thing I got in my mind was what if Luke had somehow gained mastery over matter itself, like the ability to just break it apart. Ships, people, everything that he wanted floating away like dust just from a look.

    That'd be pretty chilling.

Interesting! I invisioned the same thing like maybe he could Force Ghost on command. In other words be there but untouchable. Maybe VERY powerful force users could slightly counter. Maybe luke could do less when "Ghosting: like not use Saber etc...

Nearly invincible to none force sensitive's but slight weakness to Powerful Dark Side Users unless they are his family...

I dunno about Vader being lame, (other than that time he got his lower body chopped off ;) ), but this is definitely the best thread title so far. And I would like Luke to have some mad power and see him use it to destroy Snoke while sacrificing himself, but not until Episode IX.

    Huh??????

Why do so many people wanted Anakin to be some one dimensional bad guy? That is so lame to me. It smacks of bad writing.

It kind of makes you think why a black hole hasn't been in Star Wars before... it's a giant void in the universe that literally sucks in light. It's the embodiment of darkness. Sounds like it would fit right in.

Hmmm you need to read Lords of the Sith book it shows how powerful Lord Vader is. He pulls a light cruiser out of the sky on to the ground then he wipes out all the survivors. So I would like to see Luke do the same pull Star destroyers out of orbit.

I'd rather Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet stay in Marvel Comics.

That would be incredible. I hate to draw the analogy, but I liked the ending to Tron Legacy - something that epic between Snoke and Luke please.

Seriously - why not? There's a hint of this in the Clone Wars movie, where Dooku and Anakin fling small tornadoes at each other. Being able to create insane gravitational vortexes around something would be the penultimate.

I liked that about the book a lot. It made Vader so much more badass, and worth being afraid of. Luke needs to have reached that level of mastery to live up to fan expectations at this point.

I've never come to terms with the fact that Padawan Kenobi could leap two or three times as high/far as the chosen one. The line about underestimating his power just made it even worse. The immolation was powerful, the darkest, deepest moment that Star Wars has ever put onscreen... I just don't like how we transitioned from the skiff to the bank of the lava river.

If Snoke is Plagueis, then I'm all in on this as well... Luke gets his force ghost and Plagueis gets a one way ticket to eternal chaos. Skywalker circle complete.

wow. i really want Luke to keep it low key. Yoda pulled an X-wing out of the swamp and that delighted and awed a whole generation. Obi-Wan's greatest show of Force was even more subtle and mysterious: letting Vader ghost him.

Rey can pull down star destroyers on her path, but a wise Jedi like Luke ought to know better by now and show us a power of the Force that's far less obvious.

I would like to see Luke be forced to do something massive when faced with danger. Maybe manipulate a giant body of water, sort of like a 'parting the red sea' moment.

Some people just want the Chosen One to look like THE one and not like every other run of the mill Jedi.

I wish I could just wish away a lot of things, like all the bad writing dialog. "You underestimate my power!"

Luke definitely needs to be able to show off his abilities in the force and new skills with a light saber before he croaks this trilogy.

Imagine Luke so in tune with the Force and therefore so powerful yet patient and wise he would not need to fight much or at all.

Then imagine him striding confidently into a battlefield toward Kylo Ren or Snoke as AT-ATs, TIE fighters, and stormtroopers all train and drain their energies upon him but with no effect.

Luke goes forth against all perceived odds, drawing upon all he has learned, tapping the reservoir of peace he has filled in his absence.

Imagine AT-ATs brought to their knees with simple steady gestures. TIEs whisked out into space. Then stormtroopers, and perhaps Snoke himself suddenly fleeing the scene because Luke Skywalker Has Arrived and it is all too apparent no one here is a match for this.

And as Luke approaches Kylo Ren, who was foolish enough to remain and believe he stands a chance, Kylo swats frantically and relentlessly at his former master, but is incapable of landing any blows with his sword, which Luke regards with pity and then relieves him of with merely a reach.

Kylo, exhausted, humbled, and broken by this spectacle begs to be struck down, admitting finally he was mistaken to believe the Dark Side could be stronger than the Light.

Luke lifts the lightsaber and hurls it far away. Instead Kylo is forgiven by Luke and offered a chance to start over. To rebuild what was destroyed. To come home again after all that has transpired. To know there are those who would remember who he once was, as was true of Vader-turned-Anakin. Redemption. The prospect of a life and a personal place in this universe thought to have been all but lost. Compassion.

There are things far more powerful than power.

    . . . . . . .

(addendum: please see also my idea of how a comparable nonviolent overcoming of Snoke could perhaps work and be visualized)

It definitely wouldnt surprise me if he could turn off machinery using the force, I also could see him beating Kylo without using a lightsaber, however Snoke will be on par with Luke in the force and a Lightsaber battle will commence luke outmatching snoke at every turn with his lightsaber skills, but Snoke using deceptive dark side illusions will deceive luke and deliver a killing blow.
