    From AICN...

Mostly positive. Sounds very promising. Love that anecdote about his son at the end. Gets me excited to have my own kids watch with me this fall.

Review is too long for me to paste here, so the link is below.

Are there any spoilers in that review before I read it?

Not much in the way of plot spoilers at all. Some general info regarding character relationships, locations, and the series' position within the saga(i.e. how it relates to the PT, TCW, OT, and ST) but nothing that I think would really spoil the episode in any way.

If people are really wary of spoilers. This is his short form review before he goes into great and lengthy detail.

    THE SHORT FORM:

REBELS feels patchy in its opening moments, but ultimately rallies to be hugely enjoyable, smartly conceived, very promising STAR WARS.

The reviewer's general impression is that it tries too hard at the beginning to be "cool" and appeal to tweens but finds a balance by the end of the first 2 part episode. Not suprising as I would say the same thing about TCW. At many times TCW was great SW story telling, and at others it could be very "on the nose" and a bit immature as a blatant attempt to appeal to younger viewers.

In the end, the reviewer compares it to Doctor Who. As he puts it...
REBELS, in many ways, feels like DOCTOR WHO - a show allegedly intended for kids, but easily embraceable by adults, and containing a few themes which will likely go far above childrens' heads. It’s a fun and heartfelt extension of a universe many of us cherished - broadened in a manner which feels logical, natural, and intriguing in itself.

I just finished watching the SPARK OF REBELLION "movie" and it was great!
It felt a lot like the OT and I loved it.
I was on the edge of my seat.
I felt like I was on the Ghost as part of the crew.
It was so exciting. I cannot wait to see more.
And if anyone has fears that the show will be too "kiddy", well you can put those fears to rest.
Life sucks under Imperial rule, and people are going to suffer.
    DAMN YOU, EMPIRE!

    The Ghost crew is awesome.
Oh, and Ezra is the awesomest. Who knew?

Now, if they can only find a way to incorporate a bantha or two, that would make my day.

    Thank you for that!

I would agree with the review then in that starting a show or book or anything is rather difficult -- difficult to breaj the ice so to speak and get everything set up so you can begin the real story. Even live action shows usually take a few episodes at leat and maybe w full season to find themselves. And TCW definitely did not start off with flying colors IMO. But after the episodes started I found it nearly impossible not to love.

Thank you as well! I can't waiut to see it as is, but you seemed to love it! :)
