Andy Serkis:Possible Snoke's return in episode IX.

Didn’t need Snoke to be Plagueis, just needed him to have more motivation than just generic bad guy who can’t stop monologuing.

 

I don't know. I think Snoke's return may not be the most likely scenario, and it certainly isn't necessary. But I agree with @Maximus, something doesn't feel right. And not in a "the movie didn't go the way that I wanted and now I'm a mad fanboy" kind of way- if what we're really seeing can be taken at face value, I'm fine with that. It's just, it seems like people are all too accepting of the possible misleading elements of this film, and we've got the Trickster Director returning for this final chapter.

TLJ may not have gone the way we think, but did it go the way we now believe?
I think there's some room for ambiguity- be it with Snoke's apparent death, or a number of many other issues.

Can he be back? Sure. But what role will he play? Will he want to regain his power? There's already one person that will most likely want to take Kylo down and this person looks like this:

(a little less happy, but you get the drill.)

But what if he's conflict with Kylo will be on more spiritual ground? There's also a person that occupies this role (two, if the writers will decide to go a bit spooky.)




What if he decides to create his own, new political faction that will fight for the control over the galaxy instead of simply dethroning Kylo? Sorry, this role is occupied as well by these three lovely chaps.

Overall, I simply don't think there's room for Snoke to come back into this film. Don't spoil the celebration and keep Snoke dead.

 

I really hope Snoke stays dead. There is something very powerful about a literal take on pride goeth before the fall. Snoke's hubris was the cause of his demise. Kylo was opportunistic and seized a moment to rise to power.

Let's give Kylo the room to be a real villain. He is erratic and immature, really the most dangerous kind of leader. His decisions may not be well thought out and they will most likely be shortsighted, but they are sure to deal immense damage.

There is something equally frustrating and exciting about having so little to theorize and guess about for Episode IX, but I think it would benefit us to stop rehashing stuff that has already been addressed, no matter how little or disappointing we may or may not find it.

 

“Snoke” been dead before TFA. If ghost Yoda and Projection Luke, then a Dark Side master could escape death and surely animate the dead. Especially dead that were strong in the Force.

 

Well, If he was to return, Im guessing he would only have half his power.

He’s gonna come back and be Plagueis. I think Plagueis is the Prime Jedi and has manipulated everything, including Luke tempting to kill Ben.

Rey is going to redeem Ben and is gonna train those little kids at the end of the movie.

Put in Plagueis' urn back in the Emperor's office with the other dead mentors.

Snoke is generic because he is part of the SETTING for the real BBEG of the trilogy Kylo Ren.

 

this snoke backlash could have been absolutely avoided if they just mentioned that he was Maclunkey plagueis....killed him off and been done with it. It is no coincidence(and very deserving if i am being honest) that last jedi has been beaten by a bland superhero movie like avengers at the box office when it was suppose to make 700 million domestically

 

Kylo is the main villain now.

But I would like to see Snoke once again, in a flashback.

 

If Rey had joined Kylo Ren then I would have been okay with Snoke dying but Kylo Ren taking his place, I dunno. Snoke is the guy who has manipulated Ben Solo, so it’s important to know where he came from and why he is doing what he’s doing.

I am also kind of annoyed that the story is not about Rey at all but about Kyo Ren.

Look, Rey didn’t need to be a Skywalker. But she needed a last name and she needed to really go through an emotional journey, a hard won character arc much like Luke. But now she’s just a catalyst for Kylo Ren. The fact that he is the Supreme Leader now is kind of like, ok but it’s still the empire vs rebels conflict......AGAIN

 

Kylo is nowhere near being a 'vilian', he's underpowered & unconvincing, confused and repeatedly losing to his foes. Either Snoke returns for Ep 9 or the ST has no vilian at all.
