    Yeah, normally I don't really pay too much attention to Tweets. However, this makes the third or fourth time someone came out and made this kind of declaration:

    1- Peter Mayhew went to a convention this summer where he said he thinks this will be the BEST SW movie ever
    2- Bob Iger said they're very excited by the footage they'd seen
    3- Kevin Smith said he cried 3 times when he visited the set
    4- Now Anthony Daniels is claiming that this will be the best SW movie ever. (I reason this because TESB is widely considered the best SW movie. Empire Magazine even took a poll in which TESB came in 1st as the BEST movie ever.)

    well that's an extremely brave statement to throw out there.
    saying that before editing and John Williams adds his magic seems... risky.

    Well Iger's and Smith's statements are not that important for me. Iger has to sell and Smith...don't know. He kinda likes the prequels which is ok but shows me the difference in taste :). AD always seemed to be rather down to earth I would say so this really gets me excited. It also seems to be his honest opinion because there is no real need for marketing etc. by him at this moment.
    BUT: They all have not seen the final film yet ;)

    And actors sometimes tend to favour a film if it features their character in a way they appreciate and challenges them, even if the overall production might not be up to scratch. BUT BUT BUT I'm not suggesting Episode VII is not going to be a great fun picture, by any means - I'm not psychic :)

    Im sure it's going to be a good movie, worthy of the OT. I'm also confident that some people will think it's better than TESB (blast, there are people out there who think the PT is good). But, I'll remain on the fence until I see it.

    Give me half of TESB and I'm "happy". I mean I sometimes catch myself trying to squeeze at least something out of those prequels...always falling flat on my face though. So if it can come somewhere near that OT feeling I would at least be looking forward to the Blu Rays and enjoy rewatching it.
    For me it's impossible to make something as great as the OT. Times have changed. I get that magic feeling when I see behind the scenes pictures from the OT because it's really like magicians at work. I don't think it's possible to recreate this special feeling of the OT.
    It can still be a very good film though.

    There is always a certain amount of hype, "the best ever" and all... however, I agree with you totally that this seems to be a little different. This harkens to them feeling the movie is in the Star Wars flavour they are used to, that it pays homage and is a fitting legacy... I am hopeful...

    It's not like Jim Carrey reviewing Kick Ass 2

    WOW. Really encouraging words from Mr. Daniels. And I remember that Mayhew statement along those lines, yes. It gets me a zillion times more excited about this film. It might or might not end up being the best SW movie ever, but, I do not know why, I get this almost universal feeling of positiveness and confidence among us Star Wars hardcore fans, the general public, and even from the cast and crew (judging from these tweets and other comments).
    It feels like, deep inside us, we all know for sure that this movie is going to be (at least) up there with the OT. (Maybe it's just my personal feeling, I don't know).
    Such exciting times for us!

    While it is encouraging that Anthony Daniels is expecting greatness for E7, it realy doesn't mean a whole lot. Unless of course he predicted that E1 thru E3 would all be toilet logs.
