Anthony Ingruber for "Young Han Solo"

Amen bro.

 

I think that given the shortlist, I would really only be okay with Emory Cohen playing young han solo. He was great in "Brooklyn" and hes not recognizable/famous enough to ruin the movie. I really couldn't stand someone famous being picked. If it's miles teller or dave franco I probably won't see the movie.

 

Dave Franco is too short, anyways since he's like only 5'9" .

 

No one bitched when River phonix casted as young indy in Indiana jones and the last crusade. I agree with the everyone about Anthony Ingruber best for the role. As for the this 6 or what not they all STINK.

 

First, I am not happy about the shortlist, mostly because I do not see the guy from Kingsman on it (yes im on that bandwagon). However, more importantly is all the Anthony Ingruber talk is literally driving me up a fuckin wall (im not sure we can curse here). There is a huge difference between doing an impression and actually doing some real acting. The reality is that people called Casting Directors exist in order find actors to play these roles. If the casting directors who found us John Boyega for Finn and Daisy Ridley for Rey do not think Ingruber is worthy of being on any shortlist then I am not going to pretend that somehow I know something they do not. I am not saying that non of us should have an opinion because we do not have experience casting for films or doing screen tests mostly because this is a fan site and we are here to speculate and voice opinions. I just really want to emphasize that its important not to get carried away with wanting to cast someone because they look and sound like harrison ford instead of casting a real actor who is actually capable of creating a character on the screen.

 

I think the biggest reason why many want to see him is because Harrison Ford himself has talked about and supported him, and Anthony has played a younger version of Harrison in Age of Adaline.

 

Of course hell flak ABOT him because he WORKED WOTH HIM ... Great movie brah .

 

I wish I could find an archive of the tweet and FB post on his social media channels. They have since been removed. But basically on his tweet he posted a picture of Anthony with a message about him being a young Han Solo, and on the Facebook post he had a picture of Miles Teller and Ingruber telling people to comment which one they'd like to see (about 99% of commenters were in support of Ingruber). Anthony posted about this as well on his official page but that post was also removed. Now I know Dave Prowse is an 80 year old man so I'm sure it's not actually him posting to these social media platforms. Hence why "Dave Prowse" is in quotes. But it's still an official page for him. Could this be a way to gauge audience reaction or was it just a regular ol' post? His tweet was noticeably taken down very quickly as opposed to the Facebook post which was up for quite a bit. Do you think there's something to this or am I reading too much into it? If you have an archive or screenshot of the tweet/FB post, feel free to post it below.

This is really the only thing other than Age of Adaline that you can see him acting in.

 

I'm still hoping this kid is really Han, and the Alden announcement was made to just settle everyone down. To my knowledge, I don't believe Disney or Lucasfilms has officially announced Alden have they?

 

They have not. Which is why it pisses me off to no end that EVERY news site is running with it. Remember when Asa Butterfield was "in final negotiations" to play Spider-Man? Yeah...

 

Trust me I get it...and it's not just this either but everything else.

 

I hope you guys are right and that that Alden guy announcement by whoever is just to shut everyone up and it not being official because I still really hope Ingruber get to be Han.

 

Same here. And I recall the Asa Butterfield move too.

Anyway, a character can be recast anyway. Was there not already an official announcement for the "Sons of Anarchy" guy to play Christian Grey in "50 Shades of Grey" and it was another actor at the end.

 

Well that example had him publicly drop out because of a conflict with another project..."apparently" and, in my opinion, if sites like EW and all are saying it then its a 95%-ish chance that it's true...all of it but I'd personally still like to see this kid over who they've supposedly chosen.

 

Or it could be a Back to the Future situation where they recast during filming.

 

They're being VERY careful with this...I highly doubt that they would slip up that easily because I believe that once they cast who they cast then they will stick by it no matter if it's good or bad...similar to Shia LaBeouf in Indy 4...
