I play the Clarinet and am a fan of playing classical music. Though I do participate in Marching Band where we play various marches such as Rhapsody.

I've had a few solos in various competitions, and am attempting to play Weber - Clarinet Concerto No. 2. Nothing much more to talk about but I hope to lead my Clarinet section sooner or later! What about you? Any instruments you are hoping to learn soon?

I forgot all about posting the promised pic. I just got her back from getting new pots put in. She makes me quiver every time I look at her.

Yep. The action is a little high but I like to press on my strings. Im a 215 pound 6'1 guy with big meaty hands. It works for what I like to play. Im actually thinking about ripping out the trem and putting a straight bridge on it. It stays in tune just fine, I just never use it. If I go for that slide sound, ill use a slide.

Folk, Blues, Rock and Roll. Bad Neil Young covers. I'm not good enough for bluegrass although I would think that i should be.

Well, a Folk an' Blues picker.

Me too. I'm particular about blue, myself.
    No Detroit or Chicago.
Country Blues... No not country music, neither.
    Bit particular 'bout Folk too.
The only rockin' I do is in a chair in my livin' room. Left all that behind years ago.
I'll let the Bluegrass to you.
    I prefer Old Time.

Any 'a that familiar to ya ?

I used to play the trumpet in my High School's Concert/Pep Band. Second or third parts, usually. I could never sustain the high notes, but I loved playing. For a year or so after High School, I played with the local Community Band, which was fun. At this point, I own a harmonica, classical guitar, trombone, trumpet and bugle, however I only really know how to play the trumpet and bugle, and I'm way out of practice. Every so often, I break out the old trumpet and play a few bars of Tchaikovsky's March Slav, just to see if I still can. :)

    Music is life.

Hello Yngwie J Malmsteen, welcome in the Cantina! ;)

And... did you ever thought in playing a real instrument?
(I apologize. Usually such a joke is said to bassists).

OK OK OK. I'm just kidding ;)
Last time we were in reharsal with my band. Suddenly, a shout:
    - Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah :( :( :( :(
The bassist was crying out loud...
    - What d'you have? I said
    - Waaaaaaaah, the drummer detuned one string of mine, he said, loudly sniffing.
    - Hey! Don't bother us, and retune your string! I said
    He laments:
    - Waaaaaaaah. He doesn't want to tell me which one he has detuned...

Hey there. Been singing (singing?? Well, I call myself a vocalist rather than a singer) in bands since I was 16 (17?). 43 now.

    Reckless Temptation
    Stone River
    Templeball
    Happy As Larry
    This Black Static
    B.M.P. (Best Mate Project)
    60th Parallel
and a new one "StoneR KnighT", which is an originals acoustic duo

I can strum a guitar enough to write on, but not enough to play live.
It's taken me this long, but my debut (yes, my first ever) single should be out later this year, followed by our debut album sometime around March next year. This is with 60th Parallel.

Playin' the kinda music I like in the open tuning I play in, I play bass and melody at the same time... so's that make me s bass player?

    Not bein' mean but...
If ya know yer instrument an how to tune it...
He shouldn't gotta tell ya which string he put out.

    man-working-in-a-farm-in-the-countryside:
Star Wars box spotted right below your... your... please don't wriggle.

    man-working-in-a-farm-in-the-countryside (twice):
The answer is in the question: you put "melody" and "bass" in the same phrase, that cannot be. You gonna broke the continuum. [IMG] If you play melody you cannot be called a bassist 'cause a bassist only produces two sounds: "doom" and "gonk".

Yes, boy, but he is the BASSIST.
D'you know what is the name of this gyuy one can usually see roaming with some musicians? A bassist. [IMG]

OK OK. I got one for the drummers. :)
How do you know the drummer is coming to the rehearsal ?
    - Someone knocks on the door, and the hits are accelerating...

Things I say on the bassists and the drummers are for love and brotherhood between all the musicians. I love my drummer. He cannot be replaced. D'you know what is the difference between my drummer and a rythmbox ? One average measure :)

I prefer avoid to say what is the instrument I play, because I should receive whole buckets of jokes ;)
