    I have been enjoying this season immensely! I think the writing has been much better, the pacing has been improved from the issues from the previous seasons, and the acting as always is top par!
    I feel much more invested in the story arc this season than in seasons 8 and 9.

    I think Moffat's expiration date has given him a new sense of purpose this season. Outside of the tonally different main duo, this feels more like Series 5 (Moffat's best in my opinion). Maybe he's just trying to get all his big ideas out before he departs.

    There was a great interview with Moffat on the BBC 4 Front Row arts program but I think it's only available in the Uk

    I think you're probably right. I've always preferred his writing over Davies, but it's no argument that the past several seasons have been lack luster.
    How do you think the rest of this season will unfold?

    Oh I definitely agree. As a whole I've enjoyed the Moffatt era more than the Davies era (both are great thought), I just thought the consistency had dipped in seasons 6-8. It started picking up again in 9 as I really enjoyed the latter half of last season and has been back in top form this year. It just seems as if he was treading water for a while in the middle. Maybe saving up some of his ideas and simultaneously being distracted by Sherlock (which I thought overall was written better during the time they overlapped).

    As for the rest of this season, my pet theory is out the window as of this week. I was thinking we'd end up in a spot where the doctor needed his eyesight to save either Bill or Missy and would sacrifice his current incarnation so he could regenerate with a fully functional body. But with the blind doctor saga behind us, I'm at a loss. I really have no idea where...
    Simm is going to fit in outside of a time hop cameo aimed to remind Missy how far she has come from here attempts at world domination

    I'm interested to see where thy go the rest of the way with that storyline. I just hope as it is Moffatt's and Capaldi's farewell that they don't go out with a whimper. I'd like some build up on this one similar to Tennant's departure. I hope they don't cram the escalation of the climax into one episode as with Eccelston and Smith.

    I know, I was thinking the same thing with his eyesight. I thought it was going to be a bit of a bigger resolution, but it worked out decently enough.

    Mhm. I'm guessing he'll appear in the finale, going off the way current events have gone, and based off something Gomez said about Missy being properly evil at some point. So, since we haven't seen her do anything "properly evil" just yet, logic would say it is to come...

    Completely agree. I hope Moffatt gives Capaldi a proper good send off, because I feel like he's cheated him out of a lot of good moments so far.

    Just thought I would throw this out there but this is Gomez last season as well & according to Moffatt they will start filming the Christmas special in a couple of weeks & apparently they are going to do something different with the regeneration this time which is a bit vague to say the least.

    It would be kind of interesting if they didn't show us the Doctor regenerate. A new character shows up seemingly out of nowhere and we don't find out until later its the doctor who was killed and regenerated off screen.

    That would be pretty cool though to pull it of they would also have to keep secret who they cast as the doctor which I guess is possible but I bit tricky as they A like to do a big announcement of who the new Doctor is & B trying to keep that big a secret is going to be difficult on a TV show which wouldn't have the same sort of security as a film.

    Well that was a fun episode it felt like a old school Doctor Who episode in a good way.
    Also having the Doctor start quoting Star Wars was just the icing on the cake for this episode.

    Now that is a Doctor Who. What a great start to the season finally you've got Bill in danger Missy bing Missy she really needs to work on her people skills but she is making small steps & the Doctor is Just fantastic. (I much prefer this one toat smith but that maybe the writing as he does the serious stuff so much better. Oh & the master rocks.

    I really enjoyed the season finale but then I have enjoyed the whole season & it probably been the most consistent one since DT last one. The Missy Master interaction was great & the ending has got me intrigued about th Christmas Special.

    I was mostly pleased with this finale. I thought that just about everything was on point. Dialogue, story, character development, etc. But I really did not care for the resolution for the episode. It honestly makes no sense to me, and I thought it actually took away from the rest of the episode.
    Nevertheless, I enjoyed it immensely, and the ending with a certain you-know-who was absolutely brilliant! Cannot wait for Christmas.
