    I highly doubt Christopher Eccleston will ever come back to Dr.Who.....but we can't give up hope though! XD

    Quite right. He did talk with Moffat when he was writing for The Day of the Doctor, but ultimately decided against it. So I still think there's a small chance somewhere down the line that he might return.

    Excellent question. I'm thinking she'll be more of the self-confident personalty like Sarah Jane and Donna. I haven't put much thought into it because I've been pretty busy.

    Christopher Eccleston said that he was disappointed he only did one series, in an interview. Maybe he could come back.
    Also Nardole confirmed to be back in 2016 Christmas special.

    My thoughts too. I've seen (mainly from DW articles) that's he a well known comedian, and that he loves the show, and that Moffat enjoys using him. I suppose he has the potential to develop into an interesting character...

    Is this my first post on this thread? All this time and I never noticed we had this thread. I love all the doctors I could not even rank them.Although with the rebooted episodes I keep falling in and out of love with them. When the writing is good, its very, very good but when it is bad its god damn tacky. I honestly think in some respects Capaldi has saved some of the episodes through his acting and nothing else. Please forgive me with episodes in series because they all merge into one. The last couple of series with Matt Smith there were a couple of stinkers and I adore Matt Smith. A Town Called Mercy was one of the worst episodes I ever clapped eyes on. Then the one where the doctor takes Clara to a planet he took Susan to? Clara has a leaf and the doctor gives a cheesy speech to planet / creature that looked like a pumpkin? Then am I right the episode he gets trapped on Tranzelore and gets older and older and in the end he gives another one of those long speeches and I'm like, not again lmao. I hope you don't think I have a downer on Matt because I don't.

    I loved Silence in The Library / The Forest of The Dead. I think that was amazing concept by Moffat and I loved River's introduction. Although as time wore on I fell out of love with her. Alex Kingston is an amazing actress but here character became quite irritating. A bit like Clara really they started to take over the show. However, I wish we could have seen River and Captain Jack together on screen, they really missed out on a winner there.

    Really looking forward to The Class, Patrick Ness is a really clever writer especially when targeting young adults in coming of age stories. I think its all looking good on that front, I love the guy. He's also has cast Felicity Jones and Daisy Ridley in his up coming films that is also a massive plus in my mind.

    Also I have fallen out of love with the online community in regards to Doctor Who. I really miss some people on those boards but some, I just felt they were taking the you know what. The amount of trolls who roll up claiming everything is rubbish, Moffat is evil, this doesn't makes sense, your sexist, no am not, then they post something chauvinistic. I just end up pulling my hair out. I think everything becomes so lethargic after a while and you lose apathy for it.

    Anyway I love the show, I have missed it, it has been a while, I have watched some of the golden oldies with Baker and Troughton. So am looking forward to some new material. Also can't wait to see more of Pearl she looks fun but Matt Lucus less so (just personal taste) and am going to miss the gorgeous Jenna but we needed a change from Clara but knowing me, by the end of new series am going to miss her like hell. LOL

    Welcome to the thread! Glad you finally found it. :)
    Ah yes, the Rings of Akhaten! I certainly see your point. I think if you watch scene by scene it's pretty neat, but together it lacks quite a bit, especially the death planet eating thing! Haha. Oh yes, the Time of the Doctor was certainly a mess too. That was very lackluster and disappointing.

    Online communities are tricky things. Mainly because the internet allows everyone to be their most immature, but no one cares enough to hear other's opinions or thoughts. I found the Moffat vs. Davies people are worse or just as bad the OT vs. PT folks. It's dreadful, and I honestly don't agree with most people who are on either side! Haha. That's why I have no friends... :p

    I love Baker and Troughton! Such wonderful Doctors. I'm looking forward to the new episodes as well. I hope they won't be as forgettable, and that Pearl will be great too.

    Well, fortunately I talk to sensible Doctor Who fans who agree that both Davies and Moffat have followed the same path. They start off with some stellar episodes the first couple of seasons they work on, and then over time the number of good episodes per season dwindle.

    I, for one will be happy when Moffat leaves, as we really need some fresh blood to reinvigorate the franchise. I'm hoping the long break allows for some higher quality episodes next season.

    I'm glad to hear you do!
    While I prefer Moffat compared to Davies overall, he did a fantastic job in his tenure. But I agree, fresh blood for the show is very much needed. I think the greatest downfall of Moffat was that he was trying to be bigger and better than the previous season, but the story arcs have lacked most of what makes an arc worthwhile.
    I'm with you on hoping this break between seasons will mean better episodes.

    My favorite will always be the Fourth Doctor with Leela, but I'm really starting to appreciate Seven and Ace. Those stories are so dark and flat out bizarre.
    And Capaldi is becoming a fast favorite. This past season was one of the best Who series ever.
    Think I'll go watch The Happiness Patrol with the lights off, now.

    A big part of his run's appeal to me is Ace. She's the first companion where they really start to flesh out her backstory.
    And now in rewatching, I see a lot of Seven in Ten.
    Also, this thread needs more Pertwee love.

    That is right, there was a bit more background they developed with her. I forgot about that aspect.

    Oh, cool. I'll have to rewatch a bit of his stories again to see what you mean.
