EVENT Anyone have special plans for the day you see TFA?

I was planning on recreating the day I took my then 6 year old son out of school for the day just to see TPM but alas he can't skip out on his now college finals. But we will get a little later start on the day and nothing to fancy. Get a late lunch-early dinner at Easton Town Center, walk around a bit to burn off all the nervous energy and scope the line periodically to see when it would be absolutely necessary to get a spot. I just wish I could talk him into running around with a light saber in hand and talking to every costumed person in line like back in the day, but he claims he is to old for that now. It's still going to be a wonderful day to remember.

 

My friends and I always go to an earlier showing of the movie and then go to dinner after to discuss the movie.

Let's just say the last few times the discussion at dinner was pretty negative towards the PT, so here's hoping we have a positive conversation about TFA!

 

Sleeping in because I have my end of year / Christmas work lunch the day before...we usually end up staying out late for drinks after.

Maybe do some reading / study for my research degree. If I can focus on the tasks at hand.

Will head to the cinema about 9pm. A rather large bunch of us, probably in costume (there's a lot of Rebel Legion, 501st, and other fan club members in our city) are meeting a the local bar before hand. And because our tickets have allocated seating, there's no rush and no need to line up or rush for seats. We'll probably all go in about 11:45pm...it's probably going to feel like the longest 15 minutes in quite a while.

Edit: a friend is seeing the midnight session as we are, but also going to the 3am and 9am sessions. I'm sure he'll try to twist my arm to see the 3am session too

I am going to see the film and when I get home light a stogie, have a J and Coke and bask in the glory as to what I have just witnessed.

 

I'm going to see it twice on the 17th if I like it I will watch it again on the 18.

 

Clad in hideous Star Wars Christmas sweaters, my family and I will get in line for a 7:30 showing in Houston as soon as we all get off work/ out of school. I'll probably drink approximately 4 cups of coffee after having gotten 0.2hours of sleep the night before (the Star Wars dreams are real folks.) After viewing the movie (I won't go into too much detail here because it involves things like "weep like a small child") I'll drive home blaring various Star Wars soundtracks discussing the best parts with my family and then bragging to my brother that I told him Snoke wasn't Plagueis. When we arrive home I'll probably feel a little sad at the notion that I'll never be able to watch TFA for the FIRST time again... Then I'll get online and find a pirated copy of it (strongly against pirating but I'd probably rob a bank for Star Wars) and watch it several more times over the next few days.

 

Do finals count? I have less than half an hour to get from the test to the theater at 7. Its gonna be a stressful day for sure.

And since I work at a theater I'll be starting a shift at 11pm.

 

I... REALLY don't think that would be the best day to propose.

 

Well on this wednesday morning I have to go to the university where I am going to write a exam, than I need to get home and study for another exam set on Thursday. In the evening my friends will come to my place we will watch Return of the Jedi together. After the movie we will go for a midnight premiere of TFA and after that I am going to briefly look at this Cantina forum maybe share some fellings and try to sleep at least for couple hours before Thursday exam.

 

Far be it for me to tell you what to do with your life but.....Maybe wait to propose after the movie, perhaps right as the credits close? That is if you are sure it's a slam dunk kind of thing. If there is any doubt I would say you might want to hold off a few days. It might go really awesome, or it could be really terrible and well certain things might be forever tarnished.

 

I'm going to smoke an eighth of some special herbs in my car before I go stand inline for the entire day -_-

Going to work at 8AM. Doing as little as possible for four hours. Having lunch at noon. Then it's almost cinema time (2.15 PM).

 

Countdown.. 70 hours left until I'm watching TFA, that one will be in IMAX 3d. On saturday im watching it again, normal screen. So excited!

 

Wednesday is my day off so I'm going to get up early, watch all six of the current films. Then later I'm going to grab a couple of beers with friends before we catch the midnight showing. Go home try get some sleep, work Thursday and then I'm going to see it again on Thursday evening with different friends.

 

I'm also from Houston...ill be back in Houston on the 19th and go see it again ...

 

I'll spend the day with my oldest son. Starting the line-up early in the morning for the 10 PM representation on the 17th.
We'll play games, watch the movies on portable devices, improvise.
Then, find myself a ticket for a second representation on the 18th, and fall asleep during the movie and never wake up.

 

My showing is 10:30pm and since it's assigned seating I don't really need to line-up.
So I assume we'll be hammered which could either be very good or very bad...

 

I envy the people who got assigned seating. I was able to book assigned seating for my 2nd viewing but not the opening.

I really do wish I had the assigned seating option available for the showing at booked at 7pm on the 17th. I abhor lines after having endured some many during my Army career. I think I have literally wasted years of my life hurrying up and waiting in some type of line while in. Besides my knees and back start to hurt if I stand or sit in one place for to long so I prefer walking around up until the very last moment until I have to do something.

I guess though this is one line I do have the option of being in so it won't be so bad.

 

I have to catch a flight to Tokyo the day it comes out...

I'm incredibly jealous of everyone that's getting to see it day 1!
