EVENT Anyone have special plans for the day you see TFA?

Awesome! Thanks for the support, Skip! I actually managed to buy two tickets for the 20th, so that isn't too bad I suppose.

 

Yeah it seems pretty common these days to release films earlier abroad, including in Korea. We definitely got Age of Ultron a couple days earlier than the U.S. The bad thing is that, of course, there are a hell of a lot of English language movies that never get released here. I lived in L.A. for 14 years and got spoiled I guess: virtually every movie that gets any theatrical release in the U.S. will get released in L.A., including dozens that might only be showing on a handful of screens, period. Now, for the most part, I have to wait until things show up in an on demand format...

 

Getting to Disney with the family at about 8 am to secure a place in line for our 7:55pm showing on the 17th. I volunteered to wait in line if they make beer-runs for me once and a while.

 

Honesty has to be accepted sometimes.

When my partner gets home from work at 6pm, we'll be getting takeaway Indian food then we'll be watching ROTJ, all while trying not to fall asleep before midnight (my worst nightmare). It's the 15th 8:30am in Australia right now and im freaking seeing it tomorrow night

Some of my friends and I recently had to get tuxes for our buddy's wedding, so we're going to get our money's worth and wear them on Thursday at 7pm for our screening. Bought a 10 dollar red carpet on Amazon to roll out at my local theater with a paparazzi cardboard cut out for another 6 bucks. It's going to be glorious.

 

Well, the day before I'm planning on going to my sister's place, where we'll marathon the OT and eat calzones (I am, in fact, the female version of Ben Wyatt). On the actual day - we're seeing it on the 18th, at the 2:15 showing - I'm not sure what we're doing, but as I don't see my sister that often, I'm sure it'll be great.

 

Going to school, teach some kids, probably play a bunch of Star Wars videos even though I'm not supposed to. Have practice, be geeking out all practice. Go home, shower, go to my 9:40 showing, geek out. Go back to school in the morning and just talk to my students about Star Wars

 

I'm going to sleep all day to pass the time and then see TFA at 9:00pm on Dec 17

 

I do not have any special plans for this particular day. (At least they are not very, very Special)

I will just sleep over the day, and then go to the Cinema and watch the movie. Nothing more. I am living in Austria. Austria, the Country next to Germany and Switzerland. Austria, Europe not Australia, Asia. (You woudn't belive how many People get confused, the often mistak the one for the other).

Here in Austria, or better in the German speaking Countries we get lucky, because the German speaking "Disney Channel" are aring some Star Wars Related... "Shows". People how live in Germany / Austria / Switzerland know what I am talking about. Today on 20.15 ( 8.15 pm) we get the Show "10 greatest Star Wars Moments... till now". They really made a Internet poll and now today we are getting to see the Results. (By the way, I visited the poll site months ago and I also voted) Then on 21.35 we get a 10 Minute Making of "The Force Awakens" follwed up at 21.45 with some Episodes of Star Wars Rebels. But I can't watch them because I have to the Cinema to watch the Main Event Movie. The Movies starts 17.December on 00.01 o'clock. I want to go earlier because I do not want to miss the... "happening". And because I have to prepare myself. Because I have worked - with help from other People - on my own Kylo Ren Costume. And I have to say I find my result... not too bad. So we can say, the only Special Plan I have in mind is that I intend to go to the Cinema with a fully Costume. And I am glad that this Cinema Company (branch), didn't forbid us (Visitors) to wear a Costume. Some Cinema Companys, aks not to wear any Costume. Some Cinema Companys ask (only) not to wear Mask or creepy Costumes. Like Darth Maul, but Han Solo, or Luke Skywalker is allowed, since their costumes are not that scary like the Darth Mauls ones. But my Cinema I visied has no such Restircitons at all, gladly. Luckily for me / for us Fans.

Oh and by the way, if any one here ask if I can post Pictures of it, well yes I can. I can post pictures of my Kylo Ren Costume. If you are NOT interested in it okay, then don't click on them / watch them. But if you are interested you can look at them. But there are some things or at least one Point I have to mentioned... before I post them.

For the ones how didn't care for my problems with rules, they can scroll down to see the Pics, but you can also continue reading further. Because next I am explaining a / my Problem AND THEN I AM EXPLAINING MY COSTUME (!!!!)...

I have read the rules, termes and everthing very closely and I know that "the Regulation" says Quote: "....7 - Promoting your own Star Wars related site here is not allowed...."

The Thing is, I have some Pictures and 2 gifs. And in the ".gifs" I made a... greeting. The gifs feautures a greeting. But my greeting also includes the name of another Site / a greet for another Website. The Thing is I am postly mainly on this site. It's not a forum its a Star Wars German Fan News Site. And above all, it's NOT MY OWN Site. I do not run it. I DO NOT RUN IT! AND FURTHERMORE: I AM NOT PROMOTING IT!!!! I am just greeting the Members of it! Nothing more. Of coures I could reshoot the gif, and this time include the name of this site here: "thecantina.starwarsnet.com" but it's hard. I would have to put on the many, many clothes again, taking the camera, the tripod, and so on and so on.... inconveniet. So I decided to post the same greeting / to USE the same greeting also for this Site here. Because my Name is ALSO the same. On Star Wars related Forum Sites, I allways use the Name: Darth HLT. And my Name is displayed on the Greeting. Okay the Greeting also display the Name of another Site, but its NOT MY SITE. And you only forbidd to promote own Star Wars sites. And this is not a OWN = MY Site. It's not. So I use the same "Greeting Card". Sorry if it's still a violation. It was not my intention. And since this is my first-first-very-first post I hope you can have bear with me. Indulges, please! THANKS! Again, it was not my intention to break a rule. (And again its not my Site)

Anyway, here are my special plans for today, I will watch the Movie in my local cinema and wearing a Klyo Ren Costume:

I made the Costume with much help. So the Costume is not buyed, only the Helmet is. The other Parts are selfmade. The Helmet is from Rubies. It's the Deluxe 2 Part ones. The Disney Habsro ones is too small. Its for 5+ age. It didn't cover up the whole Adult Face. And its one Site only. The Voice Chanching one comes with a Hood so It cover the whole face, but I already had a Hood on my Costume so I didn't need the Hood: I could try to remove the Hood but then People could see my hair! And I also didn't need the speaking option. The one from X-Coser of course was a option. But I finally decided for the Rubies ones. And I choosed the 2 Parter, not the one Parter, becaue the other one would only have coverd my front face like the Disney 5+ ones and so if I would have take down the Hood other woudn't see my back hair but the Helmet because it is the 2 Parter. So I bought the 2 Parter Deluxe one. And I also choosed the Rubies ones, because they were bigger then the one crom X-Coser. Because I am actually waring glasses and so they would fit. So I could wear the glasses under the Helmet. (There are some other ones made iwth 3D Cutboard or some from China made from rubber but they are all not that good.)

I am very shortly about to start watching the original trilogy (despecialized versions), and once that is done I shall be heading off to watch my football (soccer) team probably lose (with a quick visit to the pub for a pint both before and after the game), before heading off to the cinema.

Oh, and I'm going wearing a suit. Might take my stormtrooper helmet with me a la my avatar too.

I think someone made a thread about holding it in or going to the bathroom in the middle of the film. So that is another special plan I will have. Making sure I go for a leak before the movie starts. As the saying goes: Failing to prepare, is preparing to fail! LOL!

 

I'm meeting my mates at 10 for a couple of pints before heading to the 00:01 showing. Might squeeze a couple of the Family Guy specials in before then.

Taking my last college final ever... 3 hours before the premiere at my theater

 

Only four and a half hours before the film starts and only one hour before I head to the pub. PUMPED UP!

 

I'm going to Marathon, but I also intend to relay to you guys via my status feed what versions of the movies they are playing and how many people show up for each film.
