It sort of struck me the last time I watched the teaser.
In the picture there is the Island where Rey finds Luke.
There is another island in the background.

Do you think it is of any significance, again the symbolism of duality.
One Island is strong with the Force, the other one is a place where dwells the Darkside?
The place where Rey must face her trial?
    Something else?
Or it bears no significance whatsoever.

There's also a third land mass in the distance.
Ach-To seems to be part of an archipelago.

Maybe the others have meanings and purpose as well. Or maybe Ach-To is special.

Strange, I was just rewatching Force Awakens and wondered the same thing at the end. Is Luke's the only inhabited island on the planet? There are quite a few others that can be seen in TFA, surely there must be someone/something else hanging out there, too.

My other thought was: while Rey and Luke are on the island training in TLJ, what is Chewie going to be doing?? Last we see is him with R2 at the base of the steps - do they hang around or leave to go off by themselves (a spin-off series chronicling the adventures of Chewie and R2 would be rather amusing...)

Richardo Mantobalm was marooned on a planet in Star Trek. His little assistant lived on an island with the Amman with the Golden Gun in a Bond movie. Christopher Lee is Count Dooku.
    Coincidence?

    I think not.

Well there are two islands there in real life, Great Skellig (Skellig Michael) and Little Skellig. I guess they just didn't see the point in removing little skellig from the shot coz it looked cool. Also as far as I'm aware there was no filming done there because it's closed off, a sanctuary for Gannets. The other landmass is probably mainland Ireland. There was some filming done on the mainland.

I think that they left it because Ahch-To is made up of an archipelago, thus there was no reason to remove it. However, I'd argue this is shot was there to just "look cool." Sure, exciting imagery is an important ingredient of teasers but this image, like the music accompanying it and Luke's monologue are there to evoke an aura of mysticism an even religiosity surrounding this place. Also, if we do a bit of intelectual stretching this shot may signify that a new hope for the galaxy in form of Rey and Luke together is rising but that, in my opinion, isn't really validated by anything else.

That would certainly be an interesting plot device to have the small island be some kind of dark side locale.

I don't think there is any significance with the other island being in the shot, other than it looking cool. It's almost an identical shot of when the Falcon approached at the end of TFA. All the other little surrounding islands were there too.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeem. Do you remember the first TFA teaser we got ("there has been an awakening.... have you felt it") ? Do you remember that shot of the Millenium Falcon, looping over the dunes of Jakku (we all believed it was Tatooine) right before avoiding two TIE's ? :)
