This is meant to be a fun thread and free of judgement.

With a history as long and as rich as Star Wars, conspiracies about the films (and I guess other aspects) are bound to arise. It seems though that, especially within the past few years I've seen more and more out there on Twitter, Reddit, etc. We know what a lot of the big ones are and they've been discussed already on here (feel free to share them again though) but are there any others that you believe in?

They can be as big or as small as you want, and they don't even have to be widely known, they can just be something that you and you only believe in. I'll get the thread started with a relatively harmless one:

While I think the given reasons of burnout, exhaustion and just wanting to see it conclude as a fan were legitimate in why Rian Johnson turned down Episode 9, a pretty big part of me has always felt, especially after seeing TLJ, that the main reason why Rian didn't take the job is because he foresaw a lot of the backlash that the film was going to get. Having his name attached to 9 after the backlash that TLJ got likely would've caused many more problems for him and potentially LF, so he turned it down knowing it would be better if someone else did it. (By better I just mean it would be a better situation, not the film)

Edit: And just to add onto this, I think this sorta ties in with with Rian's next project, whatever that may be that hasn't been announced yet. Here we are almost 3 years later and we still have no idea what Rian's working on Star Wars wise, or even if it's still a thing. If Rian was going to do 9 and then the backlash hit, Lucasfilm would have no luxury of time, they wouldn't be able to wait for it to blow over and Rian wouldn't have been able to do Knives Out, or something else in the meantime. Rian was hired to write/direct Episode 8 and in June 2014 that time he saw 3 directors let go and one... well who knows what really happened with Gareth Edwards (might be a good topic for this thread?? oooh). Lucasfilm had shown they had no problem getting rid of directors, a thing that again, I'm sure Rian saw and he didn't want that to happen to him.

There is only one conspiracy theory I actually believe in, and this one saddens me:

Lucasfilm wants the prequel era erased, and everything in the Disney era is adding so much canon to delegitimize its importance. (Rebels has made Ahsoka more important, prequel characters and planets are never mentioned again or have abrupt ends.)

Well it is not a “conspiracy” per se, but the recent firing of a certain actress was driven , I believe, from pretty high up in Disney. And that is all I will say as it could get very heated and emotional.

without going into much detail, what do you mean by driven?

I believe that Solo 2 will never be made, due to an evil conspiracy called not making enough money to warrant a sequel

She wasn't fired. And you're right. There's no conspiracy there.

Never thought I'd see this thread go anywhere.

For the record, after becoming more informed about everything, I no longer believe in what I said in the OP.

I disagree. The PT is mentioned in the ST.
    - in TLJ Luke discussed with Rey the fall of the Jedi
    - Palpatine quotes the most popular quote of the PT ("Darth Plagueis the wise") in TROS
    - Mustafar appears in TROS

In Rogue One we see Coruscant (this will probably be the case for the Andor show as well). In the Mandalorian we see Battle Droids. We're also getting a Kenobi show which will deal with the events of the PT.

Yes, it could and should be more in focus, but it's simply not true, that Disney tries to erase the PT.
