Hmm interesting theory. Personally I found Daisy's accent very annoying, not because of any racist/sexist intentions. It's only some Brit accents that I find annoying. No problems with Daniel Craig for example.


Another thing I didn't understand is why John Boyega put on an American accent. He's Nigerian-British if I remember correctly.

You're the definition of a thread-killer. How you can be so completely oblivious when someone makes a post directly aimed at you and your ignorant, racist remarks is baffling.

Perhaps the filmmakers should ADR Dan Craig's voice over Daisy's dialog or just replace him as Rey, then you could have the male protagonist you so desperately need. Fortunately that won't happen, so you better get your Kleenex ready for 8&9.

I disagree but if that's your opinion then fair enough.

I think what people are saying is that there are story related reasons for the accents - it isn't just random. For example, I know that Daisy Ridley went through some training for her accent to be more 'posh'. So this is intentional.

What you have to remember is that we've only seen 1/3 of this trilogy. We don't understand the context or meaning of the accents and characters just yet. We need to wait to see how everything pieces together - you have to give the new generation of Star Wars stories a chance. Otherwise, I kinda question why you've signed up to a Star Wars forum...?

What is going on here and where is trailer two? (did I miss it? - it was only shown at celebration and it was very short or am I wrong?)
I'm more excited for Rogue One right now as for VIII.

(I'm a huge Mark Hamill fan played wing commander III & IV just for the movie sequences, the gameplay itself was bad)

 

Well Ed there was a behind the scenes trailer then a trailer exclusively of the London audience KK begged for the phones etc to be put away but it was leaked on twitter, it was awesome, that's all I can see till it's officially released
