That's why I made sure I got the 7pm December 17th showing. Reason being I dont want to walk in while everybody walking out are talking about what they saw

I am already avoiding all the new threads that have SPOILER in the title and I am very selective of what I am reading. I am not on twitter, facebook, instagram, etc. so I have one less thing to worry about.

On December 14th, I am going dark until I see the film - I still have no tickets because they will not be sold here until December (only opening on 16/17 at 00:01 is on sale and I want to see it at normal time). I will try my hardest to avoid even reading the headlines in the papers. I want to see the surprises with the audience (probably on 17th).

i guess i'm the odd one here because i have no plans to avoid spoilers. i'm going to read all the reviews and anything the people on this site and others write. i could read the whole script right now and it wouldn't ruin the movie for me. i don't care about surprises, for me it is about the experience of going to see the movie, not the wow no way moments.

Spoilers are a personal choice - for me the new trailer convinced me that I already knew enough, but I understand those who don't care if they know every detail.

My problem with reading reviews before seeing any movie, is that I become hyper aware of any criticisms made by the reviewer. Whether I want to or not, I'll go into the theater looking for those problems, which otherwise might not have even noticed. With TFA I'm already going to be wondering if the plot is too similar to ANH, I don't want any other potential flaws pointed out for me until I've had a chance to watch the movie.

After I've seen it, good or bad, I'll be eager to read the opinions of fans and critics alike.

I'm exactly the same way. Obviously not a common point of view, and I would never spoil the movie for anyone else. But for me? Bring it on. I don't want to be surprised when I see it for the first time, I want to be informed and on-board.

This wasn't planned becuase of TFA but it will certainly assist but I was going on a tech black out by renting a cabin in the Hocking Hills for the week following up to TFA and on top of the no internet access I was thinking of going a step further and request the cabin owners remove the TV's.

I will be avoiding the Cantina (unfortunately) and all other SW-related sites immediately following the premiere, and refuse to read any reviews - no matter how vague they are. Luckily, I have tickets for a midnight screening :D

Tip: be VERY wary of your Facebook feed... people have a tendency to spoil things without providing spoiler tags beforehand...

I hate crowded theaters, mostly due to kids on cell-phones...

I'll try to hit it before Christmas, but might not be able to.

What I will miss is seeing all the posts about who had the right sources, and so forth, but there are a couple things I really don't want spoiled.

I was also thinking about this. I just got Tickets to a midnight screening on the 17th in Australia, which is technically still the 16th in the US. I was wondering if this section of the forum should have a pinned posted at the top for early-birds people from places like france/australia to talk about it, and contain the whole movie discussion to one thread? This could kind of allow people to hang around on the forum.

I will only have a few hours of "Head in the sand" since I get to see it in the afternoon/early evening of the16th. I for one promise not to spoil anything. :)

So, what I DO NOT want spoiled: Who is related to whom, who dies, and how it ends.

I sat in the theater for Attack of the Clones, having read the script, and that pretty much put me off on heavy spoilers from then on. In hind-sight, I pretty much read the script because of how awful it was, and I thought it was a joke...
