    I had a friend tell me it must be a female because it's so cute. I sent her a picture of Yaddle and the response was, a male it is. I don't think we will ever find out his/her name or gender. I think we'll be lucky if we even find out what species they are.

    Yes, they have referred to him as a he. Mando said, "he's happy here," to the widow and she said she would treat HIM as her own.

    Note they can absolutely finish the serie, without saying a single more word on that.
    TINY (a.k.a babyYoda) is sufficient alone.
    He doesn't speak a single word.
    We basically don't know anything about him.
    He is mysterious : where do he come from? how did he end up in where the Mando took him? is he really 50 years old, or did his lifetime start with a larva or an egg or something like that (don't forget : cicadas lay something like 12 years underground, before coming to real life and live for just 3 months).
    He even has no name.
    His specie is not revealed.
    We have seen just his head and a hand, nothing more.

    They absolutely can finish the serie like that, and we won't learn a single byte on TINY/Yoda/Yaddle/Vandar's specie.

    Can, but they brought lucas in to consult and I believe it was specifically for Yoda's species and the backstory behind that. So I think it is likely we find out more information.
