Ben Solo/Kylo Ren movie (Featuring Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker)

I would love to see such a movie, mainly because to see Mark in another movie as Luke, but this story would be more or less a prequel sequel trilogy. I doubt they will do it, maybe in animation, but I guess it will be mainly in novels.

 

i think it's very likely that they fill that time period in.. but it will either come as novels (trilogy, perhaps?) or as an animated show. 30 some odd years between jedi and force awakens is a LONG time period. heck, they had three years between clones and sith and they were able to squeeze 6 seasons of a show out of that.. seems like they'll go that route. if an animated series happens, i REALLY hope dave filoni is behind it. that man is a bloody genius.

 

I think we won't get such a movie but the story will most certainly be told in another form (novel, comic).
I subscribe to @Luke's beard opinion, Rian Johnson will tell us some bits of this story. Actually a flashback would be a nice move to explain these events. Weren't there rumors about flashbacks anyways? Maybe EPVIII is structured like "The Godfather 2", a present storyline combined with a story in the past.

 

i hope we get it through a Forceback of some kind or Force bond. and if they want to embroider on it, do some fill-in later with novels or comics.

or not at all. i don't really want all the pecky details. i like getting to fill in stuff for myself.
i never really wanted a movie about Anakin and i don't think we needed one.
i feel similarly about Ben.

 

Yes, I feel the same. I don't want a movie or trilogy about the past of Ben Solo, it could easily ruin the whole character. Leave it to the imagination.

I'd love if they do something about when he started training with Luke (and please let Sebastian Stan be Luke - at least as a younger Luke).

 

It would be a interesting story worth telling in how this young man went down the same current journey as Vader.

 

I agree with most that we might get that story in a novel or some other form, but not likely in a movie, nor would I bee particularly keen on one. What I would like to see though, if Kylo Ren survives the trilogy is an anthology of him going off and being evil, licking his wounds and gathering forces for revenge on Luke/Rey.

 

I want to postulate a theory. We all assume that Kylo Ren killed Luke's students. however the only bit of evidence that suggests this is a line from Han Solo in TFA.

"He was training a new generation of Jedi. One boy, an apprentice turned against him, destroyed it all. Luke felt responsible... He walked away from everything."

but what if Kylo Ren wasn't the one responsible for killing all of the student but maybe it was someone else that did and Kylo Ren only Betrayed Luke by helping to destroy the new jedi academy or whatever that Luke was building. I'm thinking another Jedi that Luke had trained maybe Snoke or Benicio Del Toro's character. or maybe Even Rey, and the memories of being trapped on a Jakku for the last 15 years were fabricated by Luke. I don't its just a thought

I'm feeling a third Dave Filoni animated series with Luke and Ben as the Kanan and Ezra. and showing what Han and Leia and Chewie were up to while Luke trained Ben. Im thinking would want to see a 15 year old Ben. If they decide to go with a Rey Solo or Skywalker Story the beginning of this stories timeline could begin in the aftermath of Rey's quote on quote abandonment or death. The show could open with a prologue where "Rey" gets taken or supposedly dies or whatever and then it could jump to like a year later and show Luke training Ben with a few other students. And from there it would show Ben and Luke's relationship and dive deeper into the wedge "Snoke" that came between Ben and his family, causing his fall to the darkside.

Aslo if Ben starts at about 15-16 that makes room for at least 7-8 seasons. AS we already know he was still training with Luke Six years prior to TFA. We also know that TFA is 30 years after ROJ. that puts Ben at 29 during the events of TFA. Assuming that Ben's turn culminated 1 to 3 years after the end of Bloodline, that gives a 3-5 years window post Ren's fall. meaning Ben could have probably been anywhere from 24-26 years old when he turned. giving us room for 10 seasons on the assumption that every season is 1 year like most shows. In general it gives a lot of time to play with. they could even to time jumps during the show. to speed up the process. The Series Finale would have to be Kylo Ren destroying everything.

I think it could work as a live action Netflix binge series. I mainly feel it would be an awesome story canon or not.

 

Hmm... Kylo Ren: A Star Wars Story or maybe Ben Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Either way, I'd love to see it, especially since it would allow fans and audiences to see his whole backstory on screen. Him being born, why he was named after Obi-Wan, his childhood, his life with Han and Leia, his training with Luke, why he loves his grandfather so much, his relationship with Snoke, him turning to the dark side, his connection with Rey (which I'm still hoping is either cousins or siblings), etc.

 

Hell yeah!

 

I'd be sooo down with that. Though I don't see it being made, mainly because the spinoff films aren't supposed to have skywalker story line them at all and are meant to expand the universe. Even though they are making the Han Solo film, it won't have anything to do with the skywalkers but instead will expand the galaxy everybody's favorite smuggler at the helm of the story. I'm for Ben Solo or Kylo Ren a Stay Wars Story, but I think the likelier film would be The Knights of Ren: A Star Wars Story

Also I don't know how many agree with me but I want there to still be mystery by the end of the trilogy. I don't want everything to be explained interms of history and lore. I want the Snoke conflict to be finished by the end of the Trilogy but I don;t think this needs to the end of Ren or Finn or Rey's stories. I also don;t think we need all of the question fully expained just as long as a clear answer is given we don't need the why or how in this trilogy. that can and I feel should come in an alternate media form (Comics, Novels, Netflix Series, etc.)

 

This is deffo comic or even novel territory, very excited to learn about it though!
