I think it is well established the Kanan and Ezra cannot remain Jedi past ANH. Yet if they took the path Bendu is on it would mean they could still survive but not as Jedi or Sith.

What do you think? They would also likely give up the fight and being "Rebels".

They do not have to die. Maul either for that matter. Though I imagine he meets his end he could also join Bendu.

I'm still convinced that Ezra will turn to the dark side. His flirtation with it ended too abruptly.. (I think there is more to tell in the next half of Season 3 regarding Ezra's dance with the light and dark sides of the Force.) So then Ezra wouldn't be a Jedi. At the same time he also wouldn't be a Sith as there are only 2. Ezra would be like Maul, a dark side user but does not follow the ways of the Sith.

Kanan won't make it passed the finale of Rebels. Bail Organa and Mon Mothma's dialogue in Rogue One prove this. I think that Kanan will end up fighting Vader again and Vader will take him out.

Either of them turning their backs on the Rebellion is what they'd have to explain more than them simply not being Jedi anymore.

He used the Force to hide or move to another location?

Their knowing about OB1 and possibly Luke could compromise the future if caught by Vader. That could be reason enough for them to leave the GFFA and join the Bendu.

Even after the Deathstar destroys Alderaan? That would be pretty hard to justify.

After R1, I'm much more eager for Filoni to wrap up this lingering Jedi/Maul/TCW/Ahsoka stuff and get to you know, showing some REBELS.

The show is teetering between blatant fan service and TCW loose ends and ignoring the premise and title on which it is based.

I'm thinking along the same lines. I'm hearing some rumors that with Sabine's central role in the second half of the series, Ezra not only gets pushed a bit aside, but also may have a fallout of sorts. I can see this being great character development and have him easily search for Ahsoka or someone else for real truth, under the guidance of the Bendu. His sub-journey could be a foil to Sabine's Mandalore plot (WHICH I'M SO EXCITED FOR), and all together may tie into Thrawn's ultimate plan.

I just rewatched the pilot yesterday which featured a jedi taking on an apprentice but no rebels, so to say Jedi/Maul/Ahsoka stuff is off premise doesn't make much sense. As for TCW ties, did you not expect the two animated series to have connections? Especially when they're made and run by mostly the same people? That would have been a really unrealistic expectation.

I'm not. I don't think Filoni can/does seperate whats best for the story and his own ideas for his personal projects.

It’s not like Filoni operates in a vacuum though. He’s still ultimately beholden to the story group and where the Lucasfilm brain trust wants the series to go.

I mean he tends to push ideas and characters that his creations or clearly his favourites over what makes the most sense etc... Because of this I doubt Filoni has a plan to kill or get rid of his characters after 4-5-6 seasons, and I would full expect to get a lame out-come that is completely unsatisifying and open ended so he can return to them later (like he did with Ahsoka)

Rumors are the next animated series will take place between Ep6 and 7. Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if a good portion of the Rebels crew somehow carry over to that. Hopefully something plausible will be devised. Otherwise, we all just shrug our shoulders and get over it, I guess.

And call out Filoni (in his dumb hats) for his crap.

He did it again at the end of Season 2 with Ahsoka. EVERYTHING was leading to a showdown between her and Anakin, and the logical conclusion to that story is Vader killing her. But nope, we get an ending that allows Filoni to bring his Mary-Sue back again. We haven't seen a creator do this much wish-forfilment since Stackpole was writing Corran Horn.

I guarente if we get a series between RotJ and TFA we'll see Ahsoka/Ezra/Kanan finding and teaching Luke, we'll probably see Luke vs Maul, we'll see some very old Clones helping set up the Republic Military.......

Oh, so it's not just ME that's noticing this?? While I love my weekly shot of SW, this IS getting old. It seems to me like a bunch of "side-note filler material" and we seem to be progressing almost as slowly as a dead house plant. I almost feel like the story was fully written, then broken up and glued back together with these filler pieces to extend the series, and I'm really starting to get tired of waiting all week to see episodes that are somewhat pointless and forgettable.

Can we move forward with it, please?

Now as we saw in R1, Hera, Chopper, and the Ghost obviously still live up until the OT timeline, however I don't see Kanan surviving the journey. I personally think that he's going to meet his end at the end of Vader's Saber...potentially in defense of Ezra, or even the entire crew. I could actually imagine Ezra surviving the rebellion, but after seeing Kanan lose his life, pull an Ahsoka and just walk away...perhaps out of guilt.

With that little fantasy playing out, I could also imagine having him emerge from the shadows in this trilogy to join Luke, and remember...they're the same age.

    There's my two cents! :)
