So I'm in the market to purchase the movies on Blu Ray. Looking to get opinions on the best options for purchasing. I know I have seen the 6 movie set and the the Prequel 3 movie set & the Original 3 movie set. Then there is each individual movie as it's own.

I'm looking for the most content with extras and such.

    Thanks

Personally, I would wait for a 9 movies set (PT, OT, ST). But if you really need them now, then you should choose Star Wars - Complete Saga (2011). This one has over 40 hours of bonus content.

I don't HAVE to have it, just wanting to absorb some more content from the world of Star Wars, my 5 year old lives it as well. Got 8 weeks of downtime coming up with Paternity Leave and was just looking to kill some time.

I agree it would be nice to wait til 9 are out but thats SOOOOOOOooooooooo....long away.

Don't get anything less than the Complete Saga set. See, the individual and trilogy releases have the same film discs as the Complete Saga (and I mean identical), but neither have any of the 3 special feature discs (1 for the prequels, 1 for the originals, 1 with other stuff*). Those are exclusive to the Complete Saga set.

*Three contemporary making of documentaries for each OT film, one 1997 featurette about the Special Editions, a few shows aired for the 30th anniversary, and a 2010 featurette about The Empire Strikes Back made for its 30th anniversary. That latter is my personal favorite.

The most informative content is the original run of DVDs for the prequels but the bluray sets and individual blurays don't have enough compelling information as it should

I still haven't gotten the set yet. I'm a slacker. i do have the original run of DVDs for the prequels. I need to dig them out and give them a once over.
