The DGA, Directors Guild of America, decided to make a list for the best movies ever directed since 1936. The Godfather is considered the Best Movie, while in the Star Wars Universe only SW Ep IV - A New Hope makes the tally, entering at 19 th place.

The big question remains, how could someone consider the greatest movies ever without mentioning SW - Empire Strikes Back?

I kinda like all the movies in this list, besides some flicks from the 1940's and 1950's that i don't know, but if this is a list for best direction Blade Runner in 20th? My favorite Movies ever "Rear Window" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark" so badly placed? Terry Gilliam madness "Brazil" making the list? Kaiser Soze makes the list but not "Fight Club" or "Matrix"? "Birdman" really, i mean it's a nice movie but not one of the greatest ever.

I don't know. I don't think anyone is qualified to select what should be deemed as "the greatest films". Especially since this "selection" is merely based upon personal preference.

That list loses all credibility for me with the inclusion of Avatar and the exclusion of Empire.

Freaking Dances with Blue Cat People.

What does it say about my movie watching habits that while I've seen 75% of the films on this list, I haven't seen any of the ones released since 2000?
