Best Scene of all time in Star Wars (all movies)

Easy. The trench run in ANH. So many iconic clips and lines from that scene- and John Williams' score is just superbly synchronized to every action throughout. As an Air Force officer (in aircraft maintenance) loved how they showed the crew chiefs getting the X and Y wings ready. Loved the supreme courage of all of those pilots and the leadership and steadiness of red and gold leader. I was in an F-15 fighter sqdn and red leader's calm cool radio calls "...this is it boys" is exactly what my sqdn commander would say. So here is the youtube clip that I usually end up watching daily!

 

I really like the Jawa scene in ANH where they take R2 love those earthen craters.

 

I loved Darth Maul's fight scenes, but my all time favorite is the opening scene of Star Wars, when the Star Destroyer flies overhead in pursuit of Leia's ship. Outflanked, outgunned, outmatched, and hopelessly outsized - that single scene sets the tone for the whole Rebellion without a single word of dialogue.

 

I'm not going to post a link but it is the whole sequence of Luke vs. Vader and The Emperor on the second Death Star. A close second is the binary sunsets.

Weridly a lot of my favourite scenes are from Revenge of the Sith, yes the film has its floors but some of its scenes are incredible, the main two been the opening pan through the battle above Coruscant ( still the best and most awesome looking space battle committed to film) and Palpatine telling the tragedy of Darth Plagueis.

 

Always loved the carbon freezing scene



Closely followed by the asteroid belt scene

 

I really love the ROTJ duel between Luke and Vader. It has everything in my opinion from the setting on the Second Death Star, to the Final Duel which is honestly my favorite Star Wars track, and the build up between the Luke and Darth Vader has a lot behind it. Also, out of all the lightsaber fights in the series this one is choreographed the best in my opinion.

 

Watching the celebrations last night, and the tribute to Carrie Fisher , is one of the most iconic scenes of star wars.

 

Agreed it was amazing seeing her in the dark room saying those famous words, 40 yrs on.

 

I don't know about 'best' scene, but my favorite will always be the awards ceremony at the end of A New Hope. A real, genuinely happy moment. I especially like when the camera pans down to R2D2 rocking side-to-side as if he can't hardly contain himself because he's so happy the Rebellion won.

 

I'm afraid that Artoo absolutely does not care if the Rebellion won or not. As a droid, I think he is very, very far from that. I even wonder if he truly understand what is "the Rebellion" and what is "the Empire". As a servant, his only willing is to serve his master and do some mechanical repair whenever he can - not to analyse and understand the ongoing events. Artoo remains a "simple" astromech, even if a former master of his, Anakin, highly improved him - as stated in Ep3-ROTS by Anakin himself to Obi-Wan.
So, what I always thought about that "rocking" attitude, is that Artoo comes from "droid surgery" (he was very damaged during the battle of Endor) and has just been rebuilt, and that moment is (for me) the first moment he meets 3PO and Luke again, and he is just 100% happy to come back to his master.
