    Everyone has been mentioning their lust for Vader igniting his lightsaber and effing ish up, but what about the best star pilot in the galaxy shooting down x wings in his super sexy tie fighter!!?? We've only seen Vader pilot once in ep 4. What a treat it would be to see his skills post Anakin? I feel like it would give us more of a connection with the fact that he was once the greatest of Jedi. What y'all think?? :)

    We must remember, Vader was never called the best star pilot in the galaxy... Father Skywalker was.

    (Ignoring the Pod race, saving Naboo and flying the GFFA's version of a yellow-Corvette)

    The opening sequence for RotS validated Skywalker's reputation; that Old Ben mentioned, while landing the hunk of flaming metal that was half a ship, cemented it. Losing his arms and legs had no negative impact on his latent ability to fly things, so I don't need Rogue One to showcase his piloting skills... but if it does, I won't complain about it.

    The best is R2-D2 of course! He has been part of the ships for almost every single major battle in Star Wars, and more times than not he has to save the pilot or the ship itself. (r2-d2 2)

    Vader was pretty brutal and "best pilot of the galaxy" in that Vader Down arc. He shot down more than 20 rebel pilots

    Well, rebels shows he fought Ahsoka, Ezra and Kanan.. I'm sure there were a few other Jedi he had to hunt down..

    Funny because probably so? Similar to ROTS when they have the clones always surrounding them in a space battle to cover. Although one of the wingmen was the reason for Vader spiraling out of control if you didn't catch that on a new hope. He goes. 'Look out!' and tries to maneuver our of the trench, clipping Vaders ship.

    There’s really nobody in this cast that could be a credible threat to Vader combat wise. So, they’d have to overwhelm him with numbers. But that would just slowly digress into a child stomping ants. I’m really not interested in seeing that.

    Space battles though, that’s a different story. In starfighters you’re closer to an equal footing. He’d still have an enormous advantage, to be sure. But a crack-pilot would stand a fairer chance against the dude than anyone outside a cockpit.

    I approve of this thread :)

    Vader was on fire in the 1st episode of the S2 of Rebels but Poe taking down 12 Tie Fighters in 20 seconds is tough to beat too.
