I heard a while ago from somewhere that 9 is supposed to tie all of the trilogies together.

I want Lando back and I want his part to be as big as possible and suited for Billy’s age so he doesn’t get hurt during filming ..

Episode 9 appearance? All for it!

 

Look forward to seeing him if it happens. I just don't think it will be a big part so people should be aware.

 

JJ is kind of the perfect guy for that, since L Kasdan has said he’s done.

I don’t like JJ’s behavior while making and “promoting” TFA, and I don’t respect him as an “artist,” but he does have a knack for understanding why fans love an IP.

Having seen Solo, I am less anxious about 9, because I see what true cynical SW Madlibs/toy commercial/fan service looks like, and I don’t blame Ron Howard too much.

KK is doing things in the worst/safest ways you can with SW, this bringing JJ back.

That’s why I believe the rumors about BDW returning for EIX. He’s the last card left in their deck. I cannot think of anyone they could use to goose nostalgia and excitement from the fans of the OT (or the PT....Padme ain’t coming back & Hayden isn’t wanted back).

They already referenced QGJ in ROTS, OWK in TFA, and Yoda in TLJ.

Lando works well for them on several levels: plot needs, fan service, giving a beloved OT main character & actor a last bow.

Hamill’s coming back. The plot demands it, he hasn’t shaved the beard off completely, and Luke is the only Big Three who can logically or logistically appear.

I hope they film BDW’s scenes first and do his ADR ASAP if they do use him. Fisher’s passing was very sad, but I also hate that her final performance suffers so much by not having her around to do ADR. That may sound cold or creepy, but what I mean is that if we had to lose her so soon, it would’ve been great for her last role to get her best work in audio as well as video. I love her acting in TLJ. I wish she could’ve completed the performance with ADR to match.

Anyway, BDW as Lando in EIX from JJ sounds good to me.

 

I really hope he will appear in 9. However if he is just doing it to get into better shape then good for him. It’s important to keep yourself healthy.

 

Maybe he can show up at Leia's viewing and hobnob with Ben?

I actually like this idea of Lando showing up at Leia’s funeral. He can introduce himself to Rey, Finn and Poe and Poe could say, “You’re General Calrissean? Leia mentioned you to me....”. And that could be a way to integrate him into the movie.

 

He should just stay out of Episode IX. Lucasfilm is just going to bring him back to kill him anyway, nothing is sacred. Mark my words.
