Blaster Bolt Colours

I think symbolically the red is to suggest anger and hence evil. That's a bts view of it.

For an in universe answer I would have to agree with Pomojema that technology changes along with the manufacturer etc...

Here's a question -- will we see different colored blaster bolts???

 

I think in the OT the bad guy bolts were actually green, and the good guy bolts were red. Right? I havn't watched in a long time. But I know the Death Star, at least, shoots green.

 

I always thought it was like lasers - the higher up the spectrum, the more powerful. So the guys fighting on the ground with little ray guns fired (low on the spectrum) red, while the real big imperial ray guns fired (higher on the spectrum) green, and maybe something more powerful would fire like blue or purple.

 

I don't know if there's an in-universe explanation of this but I like your idea.

 

In the PT the blue blaster bolts could be more ionic, better against droids in nature, where red is standard against organics?

But the laser spectrum is good one!

 

In the OT all the ground forces on both sides used Red blasters. In space, bad guys were green, goods guys were red.

In the PT the droids were red, the clones were blue, and in space it was buzz droids.

 

hopefully we see some purple and yellow blaser bolts this time around!

 

Purple was used by Genosian fighter craft in AOTC.

 

I never understood the lack therefor of in the last movies...
