He tells a creative retelling of the prequels at first to the gang after the Battle of Endor. Don't you want to hear the story of how your parents got married Princess Leia? Or would you rather hear about the clone wars. CLONE WARS! CLONE WARS! I am sure I am not remembering it word for word. You can find them on Youtube and DVD. They were funny lego retellings of the movies.

Awesome! Thank you so much! I love how everyone falls fast asleep at the mention of trade agreements and R2 saves the day (sort of). :D

I found the part where Clone Wars is chanted. It comes in about 2:40 The whole original trilogy was retold as well. There was a frame story involving Lando, Chewie and Admiral Ackbar and the Droids.

    Found this still:

    leia comforts luke (2).jpg

and Leia's chubby cheeks reminded me of this line from Bloodlilne:

"Leia managed not to react to [Korrie and Joph's] dismay, but it struck her again how youthful they appeared--younger even than Ben, with their puppyfat cheeks and unlined faces."

    :)(leia)(luke)

I just finished reading this last night. I was just wondering if anyone knew how old Ben was during the time of this novel or how many years before TFA it is set?

    Thanks

Ben is 23 years old, as this novel is set 6 years before TFA :).

I thought this book was absolutely fantastic and it has only made me more convinced that Rey is the daughter of Han and Leia

was it the part where she barely ever talked about or acknowledged her own son?
or how when she did spare him a thought it was about how he wasn't really connected to the family in a meaningful way?
or how bad she'd screwed up by not talking to him about his grandpa?
or did i miss that part where she ruminates on that other kid she ditched 15 years ago?

hahaha ~ all kidding aside, i actually want to know: what convinces you from Bloodline that Leia and Han had a daughter?

It's the fact that Leia and Han are still romantically involved. From their reunion in TFA I felt like it must have been a lot longer than just a mere 6 years since they last saw each other.

As I've mentioned in other threads until I hear it for myself she's not, I'm convinced she's a Solo. Now I'm not a stuborn person at all, but with this particular topic.......I'm like the most stubborn person alive.

Leia kept the fact she was Vaders daughter from everyone, the entire Galaxy, her closest friends. So I don't believe it would have been difficult for her to keep Rey a secret, especially if this meant protecting her from the dark side.

hahaha ~ it's good to know your lines in the sand!

keeping a secret about your parentage seems a lot easier than keeping a secret about a nine-month pregnancy, birth, and then what? she gave the child to a nanny from the get go? or did she raise Rey until she was 5 or so and then arbitrarily ditch her?

interestingly, Leia isn't the least bit concerned about Ben being Dark in Bloodline, which i found curious. she thinks of him as a happy child who's now got his own mind and path and is adventuring with Luke, even if she wishes he'd wanted to be more like either her or Han. she thinks sending him off with Luke has solved any concerns until the truth about her father is exposed.

so where's the threat from child Ben or the Dark side? and more to the point: the threat serious enough to abandon her own child?
and does Han not know or does he go along with his heinous act? we're back to: wow, these are the lousiest parents in the galaxy.
and Ben? was he just not worth "protecting" in that same extravagant way? he was ten when Rey was born.
why send him to Luke instead of secreting him away on some backwater planet to learn self-sufficiency through extreme suffering?
by this logic, it might have made a better Jedi of him.

Plus I guess it stems from me being an EU fan and very fond of the Jacen/Jaina story.

It's hard for me to let go! Haha

Good to hear!! At this point I'm open to anything they decide to make out of Rey origins, but maybe deep in my heard I'd be glad if she's a Solo.

And nothing wrong to stick to your theories. At the end of the day, it's just speculation from all sides so I definitely respect whichever opinions people have.

    let it go.gif

    LOL just kidding :p

I read somewhere that when coming up with new ideas (especially for planets) that the authors had a pretty clear road to do as they please to an extent, but all decisions were confirmed by the story group for suitability

I apologies if this question/topic has been brought up before in this thread, if so please direct it towards me....

After getting done with the book last week and have had some time to soak in all the crazy information that we were given, a fairly important part The First Order glares me in the face. The time between this book and TFA is 6-7 years and from all that I can tell from the book The First Order is still trying to form into the powerhouse that we see in the movie. In Bloodline Lady Carise, I mean just Carise Sindian, talks about Brendol Hux (Aftermath series) and how he was a great member of the empire and wonders if he is still doing anything to help the cause. Which means she might know that he is alive but she really doesn't know if he is helping The First Order or doing anything at all. Carise hails from the planet Arkanis, where General Hux's father, Brendol Hux, trained hand-picked students to be Imperial officers. We also know that Gallius Rax and Brendol Hux share the same mindset of building and starting a new army. Which they do, because his son becomes General Hux.

So I am assuming that Rax and Hux are two the the masterminds behind The First Order army, but with Carise talking about wondering if Brendol is on the sideline makes me wonder if Senators from Bloodline knew, and didn't tell her...which means she is not as important as she thinks she is. Or is it something along the lines of not ONE person knows EVERYTHING about the Order in case of spilling secrets?

If she didn't know about the army that Hux was training, was she using the Amaxine Warriors as her start up army? Do we know what her endgame was with the Amaxine?

Whilst reading, I picked up a hidden hint on Snoke maybe, but I've forgotten. So there you have it.

If I remember, be sure to know I will edit this post.
