First off, anyone know where I can find hi resolution images of the computer model X-Wings used for Blue Squadron in Rogue One. Blue Leader is about the only one that I can find. Wondering if the studio ever released any images?

Next, I'm kind of confused about how many X-Wings are in Blue Squadron and how many made it to the surface of Scarif in Rogue One.

Starting at the 1:38:47 mark, I'm able to count 13 x-wings going through the shield gate but I'm not sure how many of those are the same x-wings from different angles. Two crash into the shield and three turn back towards a Star Destroyer. So, that's a total of 18.
At the 1:41:14 mark, I count six X-Wings with the U-wing.
At the 1:44:44 mark, I count seven X-Wings with the U-wing.

Well, in some kinda effort to help ya out ...
Blue Squadron at Scarif consisted of the 12 T-65 X-Wings, at least two UT-60 U-Wings and an uncounted small number of Y-Wings.
About six or seven made it through along with one U-Wing, Blue Six and the other I can't get I.D. were lost upon impacting the closed shield gate.
The remainder assisted Red, Green and Gold squadrons.

My appologies as I'm of no help with findin' HR images.

Our buddy @Lock_S_Foils will surely be along.
    He's much more a help than I.

Cool Thread! I too counted 13 getting through the shield gate. Two U-wings in Blue Squadron are correct too. Let me get out the R1 novel to see if it sheds any light one it.

The power of air support really shows as Blue Leader sweeps by and destroys the AT-ACT that is bearing down on Baze, Chirrut and the troopers on the beach. One of my fave scenes (of many) in R1!!!

Thanks for the info. It's a good start on my research. I'm determined to find "Official" photos of Blue Squadron. I don't want to get side tracked but your information brings up another interesting question. It seems that typical squadrons were made up as you listed with X, U, and Y ships. I've always though of Gold Squadron as simply a Y-Wing Squadron but I'm wondering now if they had an X-Wing component?

    You Bet ;).
Near as I remember, Gold squadron at the time of the Battle of Yavin had only eight ships. All Y-Wings. Red Squadron had a total of twenty-two.
All'a that there info is from the 'From a Certain Point of View' book and the Story 'Duty Roster'
There's also mention that the Rebellion had very, very few UT-60's. They'd be more useful as gun ships, troop transports, Med-Evacs or couriers. So they be in support roles attached to a squadron when necessary.
