    CEO Bob Iger said there will be just the Lucasfilms logo before star wars, not disney, and credits the fans for this.

    at least it is confirmed.

    We sort of already knew this as they are doing the MARVEL thing with LUCASFILM

    so they will open with LUCASFILM

    However, it is a Official now.

    I mean I never thought there would be. It would be like an Audi commercial with a VW logo at the end together. Or a Coke and Sprite logo in the same commercial. It's redundant and out of brand context. Lucasfilm is Disney.

    I am personally very pleased to hear this. I was never quite sure what we'd see, and I figured it was a 50/50 chance that we would or wouldn't see it. I understand cross-brand promotion and "selling the brand" as I do it everyday, but frankly these films are primarily geared toward a long-time target audience....and I don't personally want to see the Disney logo there.

    I was very happy that the LFL brand had been purchased by someone that was going to revive the SW universe, but imagine my face when I heard "Disney"......shock! I'm not knocking the Disney empire at all....hell it's an EMPIRE, but I feel that as far as image, that Disney has more to gain with LFL at their side than LFL. From a fan perspective, I almost feel that LFL might (by perception) lose genre credibility if seen too often having lunch with a cartoon...just my opinion.

    I like this. I feel it shows respect to the saga. No need to remind everyone it's Disney's property right up front now. Just another sign that they are being somewhat hands off, as far as the fans are concerned. Now, behind closed doors, what they have demanded JJ and Co put into the film for other reasons, that may come out in JJ's memoir years from now.

    I personally don't care if we see a Disney logo or not, so long we get the good ol' Star Wars intro. ;)

    As a child, seeing the 20th Century Fox brand always gets me excited for Star Wars, even if the movie ain't Star Wars.

    This was a no brainier in retrospect, but I actually wouldn't have been too bummed out if the Disney logo was done well. All I really want is that if they can't use the 20th century fox fanfare, then they need to use the last 30 seconds of this. Start playing at the 5:53 mark
