Ok...I have some Boba Fett questions for anybody who may be in the know or think they have it figured out.

    1. Is Boba Fett's suit (helmet and chest piece) in the OT supposed to be a recycled version of Jango Fett's suit from Episode II?
    2. If so, did Boba have to take the suit off of his dead father on Geonosis?
The pictures of the suits side by side do not look like they are the same exact suit. Different pieces look recycled or salvaged from other places. But the helmets are exactly the same. The problem for me is the color. Are supposed to assume that the blue on Jango's turned to red on Boba's and the silver on Jango's turned to green on Boba?

    Let me know your theories!

Y'know, looking at them side by side like that, the Jango costume really does look like a fan-made cosplay thing compared to the original Boba Fett gear, doesn't it?

It does. Looks too high tech. Like...he clearly hasn't been a bounty hunter long. He has no battle scars on his armor. Should have been more wear and tear.

To me it doesn't look high tech so much as it just looks kind of cheap and thin next to the "real thing."

And yeah, not a bit of wear and tear. It looks like it's right out of the box.

Definitely not the same armor, though. Even the helmet is different. Look at the angles.

Yeah maybe high tech is the wrong term...more just unnecessarily pristine. There are no marks whatsoever. Kinda funny if he was on his first real mission on his own when he got his head sliced off by Windu. That's my own fan-fic. lol

LOL! I love it! And for some reason all I can think of is Walter from The Big Lebowski laughing at Jango in his pristine new armor and bellowing, "What a F***** AMATEUR!!!!"

I think they have the same "Style" Mandalorian armor, but maybe not the same suit. The helmet is supposed to be the same, though. If you remember,Jango dents it when he fights Kenobi, and Boba has the same dent.

I'm not sure I knew that about the dent in the armor of Boba and Jango.

    Oh yeah, that's right.

And yet, they didn't bother to make Jango's helmet identical to the one Boba Fett wore in the OT. Close, but no cee-gar.

Hold your horses folks, here's some info from Filoni himself - paraphrased by me. The armor we see Jango have is the main body for Boba, but by no means is it the same. Boba puts a bomb in the helmet and explodes it, trying to kill Mace Windu, in TCW. (Filoni part here) And as for everything being a bit different, and "scavenged" for Boba's gear, Filoni himself says Boba is taking parts and bits from everything he finds, needs and likes, and makes a truly unique and fearsome armor out of everything across the galaxy, to establish himself as the best bounty hunter. (My thoughts) As for Jango, I think if we ever see his backstory, it's going to be connected with Lucas' idea of Death Watch and the original Mandalorians being Super-commandos and military -type, and Jango will leave for some reason.

I personally like the Super- Commandos idea Lucas originally had, as it was done well with Death Watch and TCW, but I do hope some of the Mando culture the comics bought with Boba somehow makes it in eventually.

Going off a little of what I'd read (I'm by no means someone who knows for sure, and I think it was old EU), but I thought Boba's suit was an older one of Jango's that he took from storage and had fitted to him?

Was something expressed to change that for the new canon?

    Yeah so true.
By the way I think that Walter Sobchak was John Goodman's best role and performance in my modest opinion.
Why he don't won the Oscar for that is beyond me and mind boggling. (nontheless the Oscar is a vacuous and overrated piece of *hit)
Here is a example of his performance:

    Caution! - Strong Language (Adult)

Back to Topic: Boba Fetts Armour/Outfit is very different, I think he created it on his own in the image of his dad's.
Or found/searched for a old one from his dad/unknown source and decided to adjust it for his needs.
The original Boba Fett looks more menacing and like a real Bounty Hunter after succeeding many tasks/missions.

I couldn't agree more. In fact, that whole movie is just full of fantastic roles. I watched it again not too long ago, and it occurred to me that virtually every single walk-on character in the picture, with the possible exception of the doctor (a good man... and thorough) is memorable as hell. Even if they only have a few lines. But yeah, Walter is by far my favorite of Goodman's roles, and I think he's one of those guys who automatically ups the ante in any movie he's in.

Haha - true, but a little unfair seeing as how we are comparing a picture of an action figure with a picture of the actual costume from ROTJ...

I just see it as a classic example of the difference between the two trilogies - we don't really learn anything about Boba in the OT, and that actually adds depth to the character. Whether you like him or not, he was at least enigmatic in that sense, and fans genuinely wanted to know more about him back in the day, what his armour was all about... so it kind of became suggested over the years that he had collected his armour himself and upgraded and modified it, added the Wookiee scalps and so on.
Whereas in the PT it is just - in my opinion - part of a really forced attempt to make a connection between Boba and his father and add some backstory, which really just boils down to "his dad was a bounty hunter who wore armour and died, and that is why he is a bounty hunter who wears armour. Obviously."

Hahaha. Get's killed on his first mission! Maybe thats why the stormtroppers are such terrible shots. And why Boba gets taken out by a stick. The warrior they're cloned from sucks!

I haven't gotten that far yet in TCW, but that's pretty much what I surmised that Boba did.

Bounty Hunters try to take out their target without a fight. So, if done right, of course there is no damage at the armor. Also Jango got huge amounts of money for his DNA. Maybe he bought a brand new armor with it.
Jango's armor looks very professional, while Boba's looks totally amateurish.
