    It would be cool if they dropped TLJ trailer in August; so wherever they drop it, it will me on youtube in minutes so doesn't really matter, just hoping for August.

    As I said previously and as Lobot pointed out it appears as if they are following Rogue One's schedule.

    Teaser for both RO and TLJ dropped in April

    BTS for RO came out in June, TLJ in July.

    Teaser 2 for RO was August, it appears as if TLJ may be August as well.

    Official Full Length trailer for RO was October, logic dictates they probably will drop the official trailer for TLJ around then, maybe late September due to Avengers and Thor.

    And TV spots in late October to release.

    Though the FO still don't seem to have fully learned from the Empire days that railings are useful all the way around potentially damaging fall points... seriously, do they not have an HSE in a GFFA? :D

    Reminded me of AotC and RotS A LOT in regard to creature, set and environment design. Hope it doesn't stray too much into Star Trek territory in that regard. Everything pretty much tallies up with the spoilers released so far so I wasn't that surprised by anything. I shall patiently wait for the next trailer...

    Lea and Han had boy and now I suspect 10 years later they had a girl,which Lea keeped as secret from almost everyone,including Han,except her old friend Lorrr San Tenka,probably Luke to.Lea was first in the Galaxy that felt Snoke's menace on his influence on her firstborn,Ben.Rey was protected from Snoke in only possible way.

    I think we are about to see something story wise that we have never seen in a Star Wars movie. Though I'm sure that it is also due to the criticism (unwarranted in my opinion) of TFA. I think it is just going to be much darker, and involve much more intense, dramatic story then we are used to.

    And in the center of this must be Snoke,The mess he made,separated family,separated Galaxy,murdered parents,Luke'quests for long lost knowledge,quest for his secrets (we de facto have confirmation in EP VIII there will be quest for Snoke's origin and weakness).Its him,in the center of things,there is no doubt about that for me anymore.
    He is a legend...he must be.

    I completely agree! Do you have your favorite theories about who Snoke is?

    I agree partially. Rian had the unenviable task of:

    1.) Finding out where to go from TFA without a set storyline in place. Or even a basic outline to follow.
    2.) Make it fresh again, make it unexpected, but don't turn audiences off with new things.
    3.) Embrace the nostalgia without making it a rehash.
    4.) And do all this while still making it a good movie.

    It seems like he's got a good chance of accomplishing that. However, I do agree that utilizing aliens and creatures from the past, familiar to general audiences, would go a loooong way towards making it feel like all of the films are all part of the same universe. I find it really really really hard to believe that aliens that were present in Mos Eisley Cantina, at the far edge of the galaxy, and were also all over the galaxy in The Clone Wars, and also pop up in random places in Rebels, would somehow not be present in ANY of the locales in Force Awakens, Rogue One (outside of Dr. Evizan and Panda Baba), or The Last Jedi. The rogues gallery of aliens needs to somewhat overlap. They can't all be new aliens. They claim they want to show the galaxy is a huge place filled with lots of types of aliens. But you can't have solely ALL new aliens, or it just feels too much like a reboot with a new galaxy. That's on the producers/Disney, though, and not the directors. It seems like a top down directive (more toys?). Also: humans are literally everywhere, but the different alien species aren't?

    Abssolutely. And I want to acknowledge that balancing this it totally a challenge- I see that. And it won't be something that makes or breaks the movie for me. It's just a worrisome direction that the franchise seems to be taking, that's all.

    Agreed. I mean, just throw in a Rodian or Tradoshan or Duros or Bith or Arcona or Lamproid or Jawa. Or something from the PT. Something.

    Sorry if this has already been addressed, but could it be this;

    Praetorian Guards = Knights of Ren
    Praetor = Kylo Ren
    Emperor = Snoke

    Maybe?

    That's actually not true (at least not in TLJ's case.)

    There is only one theory about Snoke that explains all his traits and his appearance and the shock of his unexpected existance,shock for the galaxy for which his existance was absolutely unknown ,since he was a legend known to only few initiated,who are long dead.That theory explains background of a legendary Dark side user who became most powerfull one that ever existed,and transcended even the Sith by influencing Life itself by his alchemy of Light and Darkness. His power based on wisdom,his knowledge of things that transpired,his charisma trough his overcoming the death itself, wounds,his fragility and reserved position,including his fear that Force has awakened to strike back on him.
    I am deeply,honestly sad and unfortunate mr Pablo Hidalgo denied this character is Snoke.Honestly it made deep wound in my heart and left fears for credibility of Snoke and I can only hope Snoke in the film will somehow heal this wound kepping those who care about , from dying.

    Well, we'll see. If we don't see any legacy aliens in the movie, then I'll call BS on this. It would be pretty coincidental to have no legacy aliens in the three new films and say it was "directors' choice."

    Well, technically speaking, there are legacy aliens in TFA and Rogue One. They're few but they are there. Also, many of them are recurring characters.

    I think you know what I meant. Of course I meant outside of the recurring characters (Chewie, Nien Numb, Ackbar and his fellow Mon Calimari, etc.) and the aforementioned Panda Baba and Dr. Evizan. I am talking about the background aliens that pop up and make the worlds colorful and authentic.

    There are still other returning alien species. That's why I said that many of them were recurring characters, but not all. In TFA there was a Stennes Shifter (a species that appeared only in ANH,) a Kyuzo (we miss you, Constable Zuvio :() and an Ottegan - a near Ithorian (these two species were closely related.) In Rogue One there were technically three Twi'leks, two in Saw's hideout - one was a holoprojection of a female dancer, the other was fighting for Saw (and is a cousin to Bib Fortuna) and one in the Ring of Kafrene - she's seducing an Imperial officer. Also, in RO, in the scene set in the trading outpost in the Ring of Kafrene, there was a Delphidian - a species introduced in Episode VII. He's standing next to a frying pan, ordering some food. It's not much, but it's something.

    Other than recurring characters, I can't recall that many alien species show up at all from movie to movie. Maybe a rodian female in Jabba's palace during ROTJ and a rodian youngling in TPM, which also had a few Jawa's and Tusken raiders, and then the Jawas and Tusken's showed up again in AOTC. But those were story driven by being back on Tatooine.

    It all seems very consistent with what Rian said to me.
