    There is a thread regarding Canon on Shadows in theory. However, I would like to start a campaign for Shadows of the Empire becoming Canon.

    For those who don't know it's Shadows of the Empire illuminates the shadowy outlines of a criminal conspiracy that exists in the background of the events in the movies, ruled by a character new to us. Prince Xizor is a mastermind of evil who dares to oppose one of the best-known fictional villains of all time: Darth Vader. The story involves all the featured Star Wars movie characters, plus Emperor Palpatine and, of course, Lord Vader himself.



    Who would be in on this?

    Does anyone know if you have to have permission to start a campaign?

    Any help?


    Note: This book adds a lot to the ESB IMHO.

    It is actually my favorite EU book.

    Parts of it are already, right? Like the Black Sun. That has appeared in The Clone Wars.

    Count me in, I don't see why some "Legends" stuff can't be canon. I mean there's plenty of room for something Lucasfilm put so much effort into in the 90's and probably will never revisit to be brought in under the umbrella of canon.

    I know there are online petition sites, those might be worth looking into. I was actually wondering if there were any specific Star Wars petitions myself. I'd like to see a few beloved EU authors get a shot at the already planned books and perhaps rescue series like Aftermath.

    While I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the book be made canon, at this point I'd actually like to see the story reinterpreted with some new twists instead, which I think we will eventually get, but down the road, probably in the main Star Wars comic. As a matter of fact, I recall in one of the letters columns where they said that they would eventually get to that point in the timestream, but it will be a ways down the road. We do already have Black Sun, the Falleen species and the Outrider in canon at this point, so the book lives on in spirit at least.

    I agree. The Moving Target novel seemed to contradict some of the timeline implied in SOTE. I love that book, as well as the comic and video game and would love to see a new interpretation of it. I was wishing for them to canonize it from the beginning, but at this point, I don't think it can be brought over into canon exactly as it is without some of the material in the new canon conflicting with it. I really doubt that they will re-label any of the previous works "canon", but I think it's very likely that the Darth Bane trilogy, Darth Plagueis, and SOTE will be reinterpreted in different mediums.

    It seems pointless to me to write completely new books with the same stories that have only been tweaked to fit the new canon. But I can see the story brought out in different mediums and those versions of the story being labeled as "canon". For ex. I could see an Old Republic Netflix series, a Darth Bane film trilogy, a Plagueis anthology, and a Shadows of the Empire animated film in the future. I say leave the old books alone, but I'm definitely for preserving some of the better aspects of the EU in new stories moving forward.

    I'd also love to see a canon take on the Thrawn trilogy - at least showcasing some of the best characters like Thrawn, Pellaeon, Talod Karrde and Mara Jade. I think after Rebels is over, a series after ROTJ would be in order. Maybe set 5-10 years afterward. I can see it now: Star Wars: Ashes of the Empire or something along those lines.

    I'm a big SOTE fan, I loved the book, the N64 game and the "Outrider" so I it would be great to see this made canon as an animated project.

    Just maybe something like the Shatterpoint treatment with the new history for Bilaba? I personally would want, more than Xizor, for Guri to make her comeback. I was always interested in how she, as basically an android, yet strangely human, was somehow Xizor's perfect match.

    If you get around to reading Dark Disciple (late Clone Wars era) there are a number of Faleen foot soldiers in the Black Sun Syndicate that get a nameless mention. I like to hope one of those is Xizor before he ascended to Vigo :)

    I read it two weeks ago and I really enjoyed. Specially the character of Prince Xizor and how they linked some details for ROTJ.

    This story can easily become a Legends.

    One or two modifications and that's it.

    Vader castle at Coruscant its easy to change to Mustafar for example.

    I wouldn't mind seeing an animated version of the events in in the style of TCW or Rebels since it would be tricky to have it live action since the fandom is too attached to the OT cast to do a complete re-cast of chracters
