If they are all as wise and content as Yoda, sure. But surely there would be some Jedi and plenty of Sith that feel they have unfinished business, and be sufficiently powerful, returning all the time to finish what they started.

Yeah, Force Ghosts can have limited interactions with the physical world, but I would be against them returning to physical form.

The Dark Side strategy is "cheat death and avoid it" - while the Jedi way is "accept death and transcend it." Being able to just undo it doesn't really fit with the idea of acceptance.

Looking back, this conversation kinda reminds me of the Ordu Aspectu.

Jedi who were clearly a bit too into immortality, and... well, they seem pretty non-Jedi like at this point.

I'd even imagine Luke to come back in a great variety of forms.

I thought that the first to keep his personality after death was Qui-Gon and the only other force ghosts are Obi-Wan, Yoda, Anakin (though since the training stuff was retconned in, I'm not sure how or why anymore), and now Luke.

There are no Sith ghosts (though I don't like that, I loved interacting with and even helping a sith ghost turn to the light in KOTOR) and no other Jedi either.

From TWC when we see Yoda training/going through trials, I'm left believing you effectively cannot learn to keep your personality when one with the force and still have such petty concerns.

This is the kind of question which is impossible to answer. It's obvious there is no overall plan for the GFFA and KK is just letting people make things up willy-nilly as they go along. So even if there was no evidence a Force Ghost could come back fully, there's also nothing to prevent some future writer/director from thinking it would be a good idea and making it happen.

I mean, imagine if I made a post in here one year ago saying "is it possible for a force ghost to call a bolt of lightning from the blue to destroy something in the physical world?" There's little doubt I'd get a bunch of replies telling me how that could never happen (and how stupid the idea was in the first place).

Yoda hits Luke with his staff in the head and Luke feels it like a real hit.

I agree. Literally anything is possible now with no explanation as to why.

If the writers wanted them to, sure. You could have a kind of Dr. Who thing in SW, for certain Jedi.

I'm not sure I want this in SW, but maybe it could work?

To be consistent with the universe, I think no Jedi would. Instead, perhaps some Sith that goes to great lengths, and much torment, and causes horrific harm to people, can find a way to claw back to the physical world.

But for a Jedi to just "descend" back down to the moral realm? It seems a bit too lord of the rings, Gandalfing down to us.

Another relevant question is: What is Bendu?

What if he was a Force Ghost? Although the only time he really 'physically touches' something is the Holocron and when he breaks the sonic thinga-ma-bob to mess with Kanan.
