    Hi to ALL members,friends and lurkers...May the FORCE be with you.We for now we don't know that much about Rogue One.We only know that is when the Rebels are in a mission to try to get and stole the plans of the Death Star BUT i was thinking if we are going to see some lightsabers duels between jedi or MAYBE some Sith.For sure we are going to see Darth Vader early days in the Dark side.We all know that lightsabers are very symbolic to Star Wars and their lightsaber duels too.I have NOT read any books or novelization and this is why about my question.Do you think we are going to see any lightsaber duels,jedi and siths on this movie???Thoughts.Your opinion counts.Thank you :).

    Its possible, but unlikely. I've read a ,,leaked" synopsis around a year ago about the character of Donnie Yen which stated that he will play a jedi.
    We know that he is going to be be a blind character, so maybe it's possible.
    Well at least it would be incredibly awesome if Ip Man himself would fight with a lightsaber...

    i'm with @Greg Kirby , i think the only Force user will be Vader, and i really hope he gets his light saber out! i doubt anyone else will have one though.

    While unlikely, since there are said to be no Jedi around in Rogue One, I think there's always the possibility that someone could pick up a lightsaber and wield it Finn style.

    Pablo Hidalgo recently posted some tweets on this idea of non-Force sensitives using lightsabers.

    There are many creative possibilities I could imagine.

    For one thing, imagine Vader, as the only (other than the Emperor) dominant Force user in this film losing his lightsaber at one point.

    Maybe he throws it or it gets unexpectedly knocked out of his hands.

    Imagine then some daring Rebel igniting it and then rushing Vader.

    Vader does not flee but rather blocks it with the Force and even perhaps with his bare hands (as he did with Han Solo's shot in The Empire Strikes Back and as there has been at least one such cutscene in a Star Wars game where a female Jedi stops a lightsaber with the palm of her hand.)

    That could be pretty amazing and show off Vader's Force mastery in a creative and visually compelling manner.

    I would feel bad for that Rebel though....

    I forgot where I read this a while back but there aren't going to be any jedi in this movie but seeing a lightsaber against a compact electrostafff...that would be party cool .

    Lightsaber vs Lightsaber: incredibly unlikely to the point of complete surprise if it does happen.
    Lightsaber vs non-Lightsaber melee weapon (ex. Electrostaff): Decent chance, but still unlikely
    Lightsaber being used: Good chance if Vader does appear in the film.
    No Lightsabers at all: Very unlikely.

    but but Vader can use his lightsaber 1.for deflecting rebel blasters 2.throwing it at rebel troopers like he did at Luke

    None of us are denying the possibility of Vader showing up and, if he does, using it. But deflecting blaster bolts and cutting down soldiers isn't a duel.
