SPECULATION Carbon Freezing Chamber in Poster?

    With the release of the TFA D23 Poster, in the bottom right it looks like the floor from the chamber. Could this be a subtle clue to the nature of one of our new heroes? Maybe one of them, my guess would be Finn, isn't necessarily new at all. Could be a stretch, mostly been a lurker here for a long time, just curious on everyone's thoughts!

    I noticed it too, and don't have any idea what it could mean. I guess it's clearly a set piece, though I don't know why the carbon-freezing chamber would be recreated like that. You have an interesting idea, though.

    Maybe a return to bespin is in the cards, what if the retrieval of the lightsaber happens at the beginning of this film? not in a flashback or floating in space like has been suggested. Maybe Kylo Ren retrieves the "relic" and it's stolen by Finn and Poe in their escape.

    Based on the leaked toy images, the first wave of TFA figures include a Vader and a Bespin Luke plus there have been rumors of a flashback included in the film. Combined with the Anakin lightsaber Luke lost in Cloud City as a macguffin, it's inclusion in the poster is probably a visual allusion.

    In GL original story for Star Wars wasn't rumored years ago that Ep 7-9 would deal with someone frozen from 1-3?
    I remember reading it somewhere about the ST years ago....

    Nope. GL's original idea had a character from "Star Wars 3" (i.e. ROTJ) surviving and becoming a major character in the ST.

    Well it's not the first time I was wrong \m/ but I do remember a rumor about someone being unfrozen in the ST years ago. Am the only one who remembers this rumor floating around? If I'm not mistaken it was floating around sometime during the PT I believe.

    I remember that, but I think it was from before the PT even. I think it was in an interview where he was laying out an overall plan for the saga; it definitely referred to Star Wars 3 as the 3rd prequel movie, that someone would get frozen in that one and come back in the ST. But it was from a time where he was all over the place with his saga ideas, and obviously it didn't happen. Remember when it was rumored MvS played a PT character that's still around? If you do, do you also remember that there was a very short list of characters who could fit the bill?

    I wish we could've seen something like that; if we'd seen someone encased in carbonite, like a Jedi Council member, we would have been screaming for an Episode 7 immediately after ROTS, lol.

    My guess is the steps represent A. that the lightsaber was recovered from Bespin, B. that we'll see a short flashback to the duel on Bespin, or C. absolutely nothing and Drew drew them because he felt like it and he's an artist. Most likely A or C.

    I picked up on that too! Something else I noticed is that there looks to be three suns (or moons) on the poster as well. Unless Jakku has three suns, could we be looking at two separate planets?

    Call me crazy now, but what if........

    Finn is Lando and Leia's son?? That's the only reason I could think of a character whose surname is hidden (if it's not Calrissian, then who is??) and the fact that a Calrissian is a force sensitive.

    Yes I am just playing with the idea, sounds crazy, but this Bewpin stairs also...

    We know nothing about this film :)

    As I remeber, Bespin was mining facility for Tibana gas and they use Carbonite blocks to transport it.

    The idea that the carbon freezing chamber may appear in TFA is worthy of its own investigation and discussion in my opinion. The poster is evidence here, but I don't think the discussion is about the poster as much as the idea that this set from ESB will tie into the plot in some way. In that, I think its worthy of its own thread.
