Part of me is crying so hard because it took me a while to become a Star Wars fan but at the end I am so glad I had the chance to see her onscreen, see her performances both as actress as comedienne and to read her books.

    We love you Carrie.

    You know.

I am glad to be a Star Wars fan and to be a Princess Leia fan, because of Carrie.

You will live forever in our hearts.

I'm torn to pieces over this. I still feel a bit numb even though I've written about it most of today.
I love Carrie with all my heart and sending my truest condolences to her family and those who knew her best.
We truly lost one of our best stars shining in the galaxy.

Carrie was way more than Princess Leia. But Princess Leia is basically Carrie Fisher. She gave her all her feisty attitude and sass to her Worship.

I just did this. They say artistic expression can help to go over grief. This is basically hope.

Hope that she will live forever in our hearts.
Hope that this is just a bad dream and that when I wake up tomorrow, she is still alive.
Hope that this sadness will go away, and that she will be alive on a galaxy far, far away.

    Hope.

It's so strange that you feel so deeply connected to a person you've never met, or personally known. I grew up with her all my life, and I think that's the hardest part for me, thinking about all the memories I had of being a child and watching Princess Leia. It's so emotional and hard to look back at all the happy memories now. Carrie Fisher was a class act from her role in 'The Burbs' to 'The Blues Brothers'. We will all miss you very much Carrie and you will never be forgotten. <3

Why are the comments from Geroge Lucas not in this post?

    From the Wrap:

“Star Wars” creator George Lucas paid tribute to Carrie Fisher on Tuesday, calling her “extremely smart” and “talented.”

“Carrie and I have been friends most of our adult lives,” he said in a statement (via People). “She was extremely smart; a talented actress, writer and comedienne with a very colorful personality that everyone loved,” he said.

“In ‘Star Wars’ she was our great and powerful princess – feisty, wise and full of hope in a role that was more difficult than most people might think. My heart and prayers are with Billie, Debbie and all Carrie’s family, friends and fans. She will be missed by all,” added Lucas.

    RIP Carrie Fisher.

Movies aside, my heart is heavy and sad. It is so grossly unfair for a woman who seemed to be having the time of her life in terms of her career, family, health, etc. , has to tragically end like this. A beautiful, powerful, feisty light has gone out. My heart goes out to her daughter Billie and mother Debbie, who was introduced to me at a young age by MY mother with her great classic films, then Carrie was introduced to my generation. Something me and my mom shared. No mother should have to bury her child. I don't know why I was hit with this horrible news so profoundly. Maybe because she played such a vital role and influence in my upbringing. I had the chance to meet Mark this summer in London. I so wished no I planned the time to meet her as well…

I will say this though. If anything, the film she just did and the film to come, see it as a beautiful gift she has left fans, an experience that we never thought would happen 30 years after the last SW movie. A gift that may not have come to fruition at all.

    We'll miss you, Carrie.

This is so sad. When I heard that she suffered a Heart Attack I was hopeful that she would overcome it. She was a beautiful person, and she made the character Princess Leia come to life. I doubt anyone could've portrayed her like Carrie did. She was a great talent, not just in the SW universe, but especially there and her talent and light will be missed, now and for years to come. Best wishes to her family, her friends, and all those that admired her from a far.

I fully expected this, considering the timeline involved regarding her heart attack and medical care....

....but the news still hit me like a thousand ton brick wall. No "celebrity" death has ever hit me like this.

Star Wars fan since the age of 6.......and oh man the feels. I was so young, that I really think I saw Princess Leia as a mother-type figure, rather than a crush. I admired her so much.

    Geeeeeeez :(

I am seriously looking forward to Episode VIII so much right now. Regardless of how they handle her character's death in the series, I just want to see her on screen one last time :(

And btw, thank you Cantina Forums, for being a place I/we can grieve and discuss these things. People I crossed paths with today, after them seeing my Carrie Fisher R.I.P post on social media, had the nerve to make fun of me for being torn up about this. And to be honest, that hurts.

    So thank you.

    Our sweet princess.
Just 4 weeks ago, she appeared on Ellen Degeneres show and Stephen Colbert show, and she looked great and happy as always.
A year ago we were celebrating her appearance in The Force Awakens and now we're mourning her.
What a sad day, I still can't believe it!!
May our favorite Princess rest in peace!
Carrie Fisher, you'll always be on our thoughts and our hearts <3

I know the feeling. I was in the middle of a family reunion when I heard the news. My relatives were like "oh yeah, another celebrity gone". I had to go to the restroom to cry and then come back as if nothing happened.

With other celebrities this year, you feel the loss, more or less depending on the degree of knowledge you had about their work, but I think with Carrie was different. Indeed watching Episode VIII will be truly emotional.

I am in total distraught about this. I was actually in tears today. Not only am I thinking about her family, but also her best four-legged friend Gary. He'll be lost without her now and wondering why she's not coming home.

I'd gladly take her place. At least she has something to live for.

^ Carrie Fisher's last tweet, from the Charles Dickens Lounge at the Eurostar train station at Coquelles, France, presumably returning to London.
The previous day, Carrie had been visiting the city of Bruges in Belgium.

Carrie Translator: "Seeing Rogue One this weekend. Saw CGI me though. Like uber botox only more persistent."

Carrie Translator: "In Bruges looking for a theater thats playing Rogue One. Gary heard I do some of my best work in it. "

We celebrate a day of peace.
    A day of harmony.
A day of joy we all can share together joyously.
A day that takes us through the darkness.
A day that leads us into might.
A day that makes us want to celebrate the light.
A day that brings the promise that one day, we'll be free to live
To laugh, to dream, to grow, to trust, to love
    To be.

    RIP Princess 201223_225141-picsay.jpg
