    I had just posted about Forest Whitaker's character in another thread. I wonder if he's a Legacy character that's been given a new background and look or if he's from the Prequels/Clone Wars era and is someone who's still officially canon?

    Maybe Forest Whitaker plays an older Captain Panaka? That would be an awesome prequel "cameo" but I doubt it.

    What was the other guys name? Typho? The one I'm thinking of is the most recent friend or pilot of Padme's. What if Whitaker plays that Character, joining the Rebellion after learning of her death by the Empire.

    I'm leaning towards a Legacy character considering this quote "This character has a past that Star Wars completists will recognize immediately when they see his name, even if he looks very different than the way they've seen him elsewhere." I think obsessive Star Wars fans who are familiar with the comics and books (and all of the Legacy material) will go nuts over the name but fans who've only seen the films might not make the connection. I'm not even sure where to begin...

    The reason I say that is looking by the picture there maybe some scarring around his right eye and it could have been cybernetically replaced or an organic transplant. Which eye did Typho have the patch over?

    Mace Windu would take to much explanation - the last time we saw him he was getting killed. And even if they decided that didn't matter, there another fairly obvious choice of actor to play Mace; one who has never shown any reluctance to take small supporting roles in massive franchises.

    Agreed! There's so many great characters and places from the EU that would really benefit from some exploration in the new canon. I'm excited by the possibility of a certain blue-skinned guy possibly making an appearance on Rebels. I love the suggestion by @Laggamaroo that Whitaker might be Kyle Katarn.

    I was thinking that he doesn't seem too much like Kyle... but then I realised I was thinking more of Jedi rather than mercenary Kyle, so who knows.
    I doubt it's him, but it would certainly be an interesting tack to take things.

    I needed a moment to remember him, but I like this! This is the kind of interconnectivity that I like, bringing in characters who make sense for the story that you want to tell.
