Nice effort. I like some ideas made here, and it is a nice compilation.

But... Strange pacing in my book, as the trailers are still clearly separated though. With more practice it could have been better mixed up - to kinda have a tone on it's own.

For example, look at my version. Although I am also pretty new to all of this, but you can see and get the idea how some things may be organized differently. Of course, there are countless ways to change things, this is just one of them. Not necessarily better but it's always good to have more ideas.

Nice one! I really do dig it! :)

In mine, though, I wanted to use basically all the footage that we have so far, so that's why it's long. I do agree that there is kind of an abrupt tonal shift from Trailer 2 to 3, oh well.

Again, good work, MarkaN! If anybody else has some self-made trailers, feel free to post them here! Maybe we can turn this into a Force Awakens Fan Trailer thread!

I like both of your trailers, and I'm now subscribing to both of you.

Here is my latest contribution: Han Solos Flashback

It is not a trailer compilation really, more an idea I had of what went through Hans mind when he spoke to Rey and Finn.

Wow, that's pretty great! Thanks for sharing! It could easily be used as an official promo for the marathon showings with very little changes! :)

Both of you guys have done nice jobs. I just think for both, the pacing is off. I think that there should have been a singluar structure for the themes of your respective trailers, rather than a few different themes. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Holy hell that was amazing. As an executive producer in Hollywood, I want to say that you should be working as a professional editor if you can do such an amazing job like that. What did you use to edit that? Magic? :p

I agree with you, the pacing and theme is off in my trailer. I don't know whether to blame it on editing throughout the AM hours or not! haha :p I really love editing, though, and I'm always striving to do better work.

And yeah, about Nick's edit, totally en pointe! Kind of outside the box, I loved the direction he took it in. Thank you very much for the feedback.

    Thnx! Yours too :)

If you really love editing, there is little that can stop you. Just try to imagine it how it would flow in your head and then simply try to make it happen. That is the best way to make something creative, something to be proud of.

Since I'm creating mine with a rusty old bucket I rarely do real stuff, it takes alot of time and computer crashes. That is not my main speciality, but why not to show people something good if you can, right?

Thank you! ... And dude... That is awesome!! I don't know how you did certain things there, clearly a higher level editing :)

Han Solo's Flashback video was great, a much better, more extensive and impressive version of the idea I had here:

I went more minimal keeping the trailer intact, and overlaying a handful of original trilogy clips, then ended with a deleted shot from ROTJ. I didn't want it to be too invasive and I'm happy with it, but your concept is so much stronger. Bravo sir, top work!

Not bad, I like the idea, showing the connections between the original trilogy and the new film.

I'm really enjoying these! Let's keep it up, people! :)

If there was a scene with a green saber like that at the end of the official trailer, I have to be honest... I would have blast my pants in excitement.

Sorry for my language but I don't think there is a better way to explain how awesome that was.

LOL, get this boy a thesaurus, quick!:p

I loved it, lived all of the fan trailers in this thread. I really enjoy fan art. I don't have a creative bone in my body but I do have enough sense to appreciate great fan art when I see it. Honestly, TPTB would do well to buy these!

@LukeRyan connects the trailer to the events of the past. Not every potential moviegoer will really know what they are all talking about, many of them will not even have been old enough to watch and remember the OT in all its glory.

The only thing I would add to the trailers is Leia. She was a member of the Big Three and part of the story going forward. Keep up the good work, people!

Yeah, my machine's pretty crap too. Though I recently upgraded to a 1GB harddrive and it's really running a lot smoother now, so if I have the time, even more edits to come! You can find some older ones on my channel - as well as short films - just don't go too far back, there's some really embarrassing stuff back there! haha With all this new harddrive space, I should really just backup those old videos and take them off of my channel, just to streamline it, and not have stuff up from when I was like 13! haha

    TL;DR: Editing and stuff.

Yeah, everybody's stuff has been pretty impressive thus far! Can't wait to see what else is coming!

Thank you so much! I actually skipped After Effects in this one and used only Adobe Premiere. I used a lot of zoom and pan to get more life in many of the static shots. I do love the static shots in the Star Wars films but the music in this clip begs for motion and fast pace. I also flipped a few shots, mostly because nerds like us have seen the films a trillion times so it gets a little bit more fresh when flipped. :)
