    This is an important thing to note here. Chewie was home... for a very long time in between ROTJ and TFA. I'm curious to find out what made him leave and go back to gallivanting around the galaxy with Han. Perhaps Ben's turn to the dark side made him feel like he needed to be there for Han? Either way, because he spent decades there with his family I don't feel a strong need for him to go back. But I suppose once the war is over, what else is he going to do?

    No. Chewie can go home after IX. I have a little fanboy desire to see him interact with Kylo/Ben in some way. And if Lando shows up...I’ll take a couple spoonfuls of that nostalgia.

    That was my take. It's not about some life debt. Han & Chew were pals. If his dope of a friend wanted to get himself knee deep in the grime again, because that was his way of coping, then damn straight old Chewie'd be there to watch his back.

    Why'd he throw in with this Rey girl? She was headed to see his buddy Luke. Why'd he throw in with this new Rebellion? Because Leia was in trouble and he's Chew-f***'n-bacca. That's why :D

    In Bloodline, it's implied that Han was in contact with Chewie, and he left a message for Leia at one point. We know Han had a shipping business as well as racing, so it's possible that Chewie still had excursions. I'd like to think so anyway. And it makes sense that he might go to Chewie for a shoulder to cry on. They were family .

    Still waiting for the most incredible Chewie moment, if JJ does this at the end of IX I WILL cry in the theater....

    Need to have a huge medal ceremony, a la ANH, and have Chewie be the first to get medal - and have him receive 2 MEDALS with no explanation - the theater will explode if JJ can pull that off......probably one of the biggest SW fan complaints is the "Chewie didnt get a medal" in ANH!!!!

    Come on JJ, just DO THIS!!!!!
