SPECULATION Chewie's role in Episode VIII?

Chewie seems to really like Rey and Finn so it wouldn't surprise me he ends up partnering up with one of them.

 

Does anyone know why Chewie looks so thin in The Last Jedi? His action figure looks emaciated as heck. Is it simply a case of depression after Han's death? Are the porgs eating his lunch? Is the new actor in the suit too skinny for the original suit, so they thinned it out? Did Chewie catch some space venereal diseases in a night of post-Han-death debauchery? Please share your theories. I am concerned.

 

There is a reason he stayed out of the cantina at Maz castle.

Seriously though I think that at least at the start of things he and artoo are sticking with Luke and Rey.

My gut says Cheeie is there to see Luke and drag him back.

Speculation: If Rey is related to Han he's there because of the Life Debt continuing to Han's family not just Han.

 

Wouldn't the rightful owner be Leah, Hans widow? As the leader of the resistance I expect that she would consider the Falcon a in service to the Resistance,, and as its leader would assign it to whoever she felt needed it.

Not really. Kylo as as much of a right to own the Falcon as Leia. As far as we know Han didn't prepare any last will before his death, so his property would probably have to be distributed by a judge during a trial. Doesn't really sound too exciting, does it?

 

If that were the case, she DID assign it to who she felt needed it. She gave it to Rey to take to Ach-To with Chewie as her co-pilot.

 

Basically this. Chewie will be Rey's co-pilot. The Falcon meant everything to Han, and Chewie will make sure it remains untouched by the unworthy.

 

No better wookiee for the job. Han's watching from afar with proud feeling in his heart.

 

As for his future roll. I would like to see him become one of the great generals of the Resistance commanding his own army. Perhaps the Admiral Akbar equivalent to the ground troops. Taking on Han's roll in the Battle of Endor. It would make since he has combat experience dating back to the prequels.

That's what I would like to see, however I expect that he will stay with the Falcon. It is his home.

 

I just hope he is used more than in TFA.
