    Hey all,

My 5 year old daughter's been all in to Star Wars over the past 6 months, since we finally showed her ANH.
Since then, she's watched the rest of the OOT twice, TPM & just finished AOTC. Whichever one she just watched is always her favorite - though she admits AOTC was pretty boring in the middle.

Parallel to loving the movies, she's become excited about Clone Wars & Rebels, b/c she wants to see some awesome girls in action.

So now I'm wondering, what do I do next? We've talked about how ROTS is sad and that it's the one where Anakin becomes a bad guy. Do we jump right into ROTS next, or do we segue into Clone Wars now, follow chronological order and let her see Ahsoka? After the series, Anakin's turn might be even more upsetting though.

My goal is to get her through the movies before TFA comes out, because I've promised her that she can go see that. We've got time, but I'm not sure if we can watch the whole series by December - considering she's only allowed a max of 2 eps of any show per day.

I'd love if you shared your thoughts!

I would go with RotS first, and then jump into the series. My main reasoning being that you won't mess her up that way, as a ton of stuff happens in TCW that isn't very relevant nor even mentioned at all in RotS, which is understandable as the show came out 3 years after the movie.

So best to get the movie done, so that she doesn't have to deal with a massive change in style as well as storyline. And you have fewer questions to answer too. ;)

Well, not much will resolve the questioning. She'd be happy if I put the movie on mute and just explained everything to her as it happens...
She's fine if she's watching a show on her own, but she'd rather hear a plot from me than the characters living it.

I suppose it would work to go right into ROTS. It's the way we all saw it. Plus, it only delays us another week or so, depending on her behavior. And while Clone Wars is cool, I wonder if some of the content of later episodes would be too much for her. I'm already worried about how she'll handle the last 1/2 hour of ROTS. Maybe it's a good idea to go back to something more fun afterward, like the lighter episodes of CW or watch the full season of Rebels.

Yeah. While the concern crossed my mind, obviously I'm giving you the say in whether she's good to see RotS. I don't see much issue with the movie itself... some bad stuff happens, but it's made with families in mind and so is not gory or overly terrible... well except maybe the "limbs cut off" part. At the most, you can pause the movie before he jumps, make her go to the other room for a second, and then find the part where he is finally Vader with all his robotic limbs already attached and covered, and then continue to the end. I think the birth scene is mixed in there, but you can just explain that business to her, and that he got the suit because he got really hurt.

Then jump into TCW. It's light-hearted enough overall. I just might avoid a few particular episode arcs, specifically one in season six, aka "The Lost Episodes", which (not sure if you've seen that season or not) has a story arc that's pretty creepy, and quite a few people are killed in it.

But in any case, probably all will be well. I mean hey, I grew up with stuff like Krull and Legend, things like that with monsters getting heads cut off and and death and such, and I turned out well enough. :D
