I think the Clone Wars timeline is a mess anyway. I still haven't been able to calculate correctly the length of the Clone Wars.

This always bothered me, even if you could see it it would take years or decades, if not centuries, for the light of the explosions to reach Takodona.

As for the original post, pretty sure I read there were story plans for season 8 so there was plenty of time for the events of Dark Disciple to take place. The major continuity problem in the new canon for me is in the novel 'Lords of the Sith'. Without revealing any spoilers and in the vaguest terms but just in case...
characters are unable to understand how other characters are able to perform various acts despite the novel only taking place 5 years after Revenge of the Sith and the end of the Clone Wars. Every character in that novel was at least a teenager during TCW so would have known all about the Force and seen Jedi on the holonet, not only that at least one character served alongside Jedi during the Clone Wars himself! It is totally bizarre that they repeatedly showed they had no knowledge of the Force and really affected my enjoyment of what was a thoroughly mediocre book that I would not recommend unless you really want to read every single novel.

I think Pablo Hidalgo has stated that most people in the galaxy have never encountered a Jedi/Force user, so maybe this is a kind-of-sloppy way to reinforce that idea? IDK, IDK...

I agree that the Clone Wars should span more than 3 years. I think the first two and a half seasons should take about two years and there should be at least half a year for the Jedi to encounter Grievous and Ventress, Anakin to become a knight, Obi-Wan to become a Master, etc. Then the rest of the show should should take around 1-2 years and the undeveloped episodes around a year to a year and a half.
