I'm a little new to this forum, and also Star Wars in general (watched all 6 in a row in prep for TFA) so please let me know if this is ridiculous. The map leading to Luke was in two pieces, the smaller section held by an old man on Jakku (who was he again? does anyone know?) and the other, much larger piece was held by the First Order. Kylo Ren mentioned that they recovered the larger section of the map from the archives (right? or something along those lines.) The planet that Luke was on in the end seemed water covered, with very little land. Is it possible that the planet Luke was on is actually Kamino? It would make sense if the map Kylo Ren recovered was missing a piece because it was removed from the archives by Dooku to keep Obi Wan from discovering the clone army. This would leave a hole in the map where Kamino would have been, making it a perfect spot for Luke to go into hiding. This would also mean that the smaller section would have been the part that Dooku removed. Could this possibly be true? I do not remember R2 ever downloading a copy of the map from the archives, but it could be possible. I'm not sure if this is something that everyone else already noticed, but this has been on my mind ever since I saw it last night.

The character is Lor San Tekka, and as of this moment, he has very little backstory. There are three existing water worlds: Kamino, Mon Cala, and Manaan. Someone correct me if others exist, but presumably, Luke has been searching for a place that time has forgotten. Essentially, he is searching for the "Earth" that the Jedi originally came from. I suspect it will be a location we have yet to see in either trilogy. The navigation chart was in the Empire archive, and was likely placed into the R2-D2 unit by Luke Skywalker. Little is known about the copy the First Order had, or what was on their map. They may have even had a smaller portion that they had been attempting to complete with old data from the Empire archives. We don't know.

Dooku removed just Kamino, not about 15% of the entire galaxy.
